Hi Everyone

As part of the development of the neighbourhood health model in Leeds we have committed to having a focus on working in a joined up way across partners to support people with the most complex health and care needs. You may hear this referred to as proactive care and the way of working together as working in a ‘networked team’.

Some LCPs have already been working in this way as part of the Healthy Leeds Plan priorities e.g. supporting people with Advanced Respiratory Disease. We are about to roll this approach out across all LCPs, asking each LCP to work with a cohort that their data shows would benefit from this model. To support the programme we have a staff survey that we are looking for people across organisations to complete. This will provide a baseline of how well things are working across Leeds now, and help us shape local development plans for each LCP.

Please could you complete the survey here: https://re-url.uk/W41V by end of Friday 18th July and encourage colleagues who also cover the local area to complete it too. We want to try and capture views from a range of organisations, departments and roles including community groups and all council departments.

When it asks which LCPs you link to please tick any that apply to you - we won’t be asking you to answer the survey separately for other LCPs you attend.

Thank you for your support

Lunch and Learn: Exploring Public Health Data Tools

It was amazing to see so many (over 100!) of you tune in last Wednesday. However, in case you missed the session, a recording is available on our YouTube channel along with the rest of our Lunch and Learn programme.

All the data tools discussed—PCN infographics, Ward Profiles and Interactive Area Profiles—either are or will be publicly available on Leeds Observatory. https://observatory.leeds.gov.uk/health-and-wellbeing/ph-documents/

The map Lauren shared in the Q&A section showing the PCN, Ward and MSOA boundaries in one place is available here. Navigate to “Content” to control what layers you can see. https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=0ee3bb2ca93c4bc3b0b047d95c446e09&extent=-1.9029,53.6666,-0.971,53.9932

There are Women and girls across the UK cannot access safe menstrual protection each month.

This is why at Active Leeds we are supporting Freedom 4 Girls, Make The Switch campaign.

In March we will be hosting two events at selected Active Leeds leisure centres to encourage customers to donate any period products in exchange for a more sustainable option including: Modi Bodi swim costumes, period yoga leggings/shorts and period underwear.

We aim to support women and girls to feel empowered when being active, alleviating the barrier of being on your period and always having the opportunity to access free period products.

To support the cause please come along to our ‘Make the Switch’ events below:

·Tuesday 11th March at Aireborough leisure centre- 3:30pm- 7:00pm
·Wednesday 12th March at Holt Park Active- 3:30pm-7:00pm

Do not worry if you can not attend on the selected dates. As there will be a donation bin at both Aireborough and Holt Park Active for customers to continue to support women and girls in our communities.

Heads-up, everyone!
I’m sorry folks, but I’ve made the tough decision to cancel tomorrow’s MEN WALK THIS WAY special Walk and Talk event in Roundhay Park (Saturday, 23 November) due to the forecast of snow and rain.
As a mostly outdoor peer support group based in weather-crazy Yorkshire, we’re used to braving all kinds of conditions. However, with tomorrow’s forecast looking particularly challenging, I want to prioritise everyone’s comfort and wellbeing—both getting to the event and during it.
The event involves gentle walking with stops for our fantastic speakers, who are travelling from all over the County, and we were expecting a larger turnout than usual. Taking everything into account, I believe this to be the right decision.
If you’ve shared the event with others, I’d really appreciate it if you could now share this update to help spread the word as widely as possible.
To keep in the spirit of Men’s Health Month, I’ll be promoting the amazing organisations our speakers represent starting Monday on our Instagram and through our mailing list.
If you know anyone who’d like to join our mailing list, just drop us an email at hellomhmleeds@gmail.com.
Apologies again for any disruption this may cause to your plans tomorrow and thank you for understanding.
Lots of love,
Michelle x
