Just in case you didn't know I am delighted to announce that Body in Balance Physiotherapy has relocated to Station Road in Horsforth.
Still work in progress but as of today open to business as normal 🥳

Whenever I speak with a runner, whether professionaly or socialy, the discussion is always around running better, FASTER, with less effort and more ease, WITHOUT PAIN .... the list goes on.

What is the answer??? There are many avenues of focus one can take.

I have recently run the CHEVIN CHASE and managed to run it 6 mins faster to the previous year.
I didn't run more than usual in preparation(I wish I did of course)
But
One thing I did do is to focus on my posture during any run I did - mindful, body awareness running.

The change from my stooped posture on the left (Ilkley tri 2021) to my upright posture on the right enabled my body to work as one unit in an elastic way.
Simply put, instead of me having to work hard each step, I use my elastic energy to propel me forward (there are other important aspects to address but having an upright posture/axis is the key).

HAVE A GO - just imagine a helium balloon attached just behind the centre of your head, taking the weight of it and allowing the spine to lengthen - chest and gaze pointing straight ahead in the direction you are going.
