Fabulous reminiscing session on our Haven ❤️
Our Jean recounted how she used to have a sweetie pocket in her navy knickers and that everyone's uniforms were oversized, allowing them to be worn for many years. She and her friends would often roll up their skirts at the waist to make them shorter.
Diane proudly mentioned that she played the trombone and was a prefect.
Our Val H shared that when Mr. Wilkins spoke, they all felt as though they were in hell and big trouble, which brought much amusement to everyone.
Lorna spoke about how board rubbers and chalk were sometimes thrown at mischievous pupils, though she herself never experienced this 😊
The conversation then shifted to their first crushes or boyfriends/girlfriends and how they got to school. Our Val H spoke about how she had a fondness for Norman Williams, and our Dot had a crush on a handsome boy named John, who unfortunately never asked her out. Dot also shouted out that they walked to school, because they had legs :)
When a photo of the school canteen was shown our Lil shared that lunch at her school was "an ordeal," which again made people chuckle.
The session flew by, with fabulous memories shared, lots of conversation started and a wonderful time together shared
