Good morning everyone :)

As you all know we have a new challenge every month and Februarys challenge was 'Sweet Creations'.
We thought outside of the box and with it being the month of love our theme was 'Love is all around'. The mini bus was booked and our residents set off around Horsforth doing things they never, ever thought they would...it's completely normal to bake a cake in Horsforth Park, St Margaret's Church and Kirkstall abbey is it not?

It brought many laughs and adventures that were different...think bus driver Mark thought we had really lost the plot :)

the real magic came together when residents decorated the cake as a team, giving their ideas, help and support. It really was a whole home team effort from the baking of the cookies and cake from scratch, to the decorating.
We may not have won this months, but we were so proud of our show stopping creation.

National Pie Day....
That was the theme of our Coffee Morning yesterday at the Manor...another lovely morning full of family gathering, chats and laughter.... Homemade Fruit 🥧 🥧 Pies, Apple, Blueberry and a new addition Pear 🍐 and vanilla, served with warm custards or Lemon and orange 🍊 cream!! All finished off with lots of hot tea, coffee and yes you guessed it ...a Pie Quiz!

One more ....a bit of indoor golf, movement to music and our brilliant exercise class by Marilyn....if you haven't attended one these i recommend you doing so 💪

Seeing everyone give golf a go was really humbling, some needed a bit of a helping hand, but don't we all at times. Seeing everyone cheer each other one was amazing 👏

I got asked the other day by a resident, what do I think makes us stand out from everywhere else 🤔 i said that's an easy one to answer residents, staff and family because we are all as bonkers as each other ♥️

What a delightful and relaxed weekend at the Manor.

Some residents enjoyed watching television, while others took a pleasant stroll to Starbucks for coffee and cake. A few residents chose to unwind in the lounge with their newspapers or books, and others engaged in games of boules and horse racing. There were also residents who had visitors and celebrated birthdays, while some channeled their creativity into crafting a spring wreath. Regardless of their chosen activities, all residents had the opportunity to enjoy themselves, and a shared pleasure was the beautiful sunshine streaming through the windows.

This is me signing off for the week ladies and gents as I'm off to Venice with my mum, ill make sure to take many photos to share when I get back. Some of our residents have already shared many stories about their times there...I've been given some great tips and places to visit 😊 I'll miss you all, but enjoy the peace and quiet as ill be back before you know it 😜

After doing our good deed,we called into a local coffee shop to dry off as it was raining and enjoy a quick coffee...if only that was the case..we caused uproar 😂 there was spillages, slurping, laughter and more laughter, the poor coffee shop didn't know what or who it had let through the door 😂

Laughter really is the bad medicine 💊

Most of our amazing residents have lived in and around our amazing town of Horsforth for many many years, so it was no surprise that when we were selecting our chosen Charity to support for February...there would be no doubt that it would be a local charity we would support. Almost 1 in 3 women experience Domestic abuse and we wanted to make a difference to them and their children so we chose to support Horsforth's Women's refuge.

Very often the women and children arrive at the refuge in a moment of crisis not able to pack essentials and belongings and without home comforts. We wanted to make a difference and help ensure they have all they need. With the help, love and support of our amazing team our families and residents, in just 2 weeks we have managed to put together a package of over 550 amazing items to donate to the refuge.

Today our residents Margaret, Faye and Marian helped to deliver these much needed essential items. Words cannot express how proud we are to be able to do this - thankyou so so much everyone! Together at the Manor ....we know we can make a difference❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Well today at the Manor we held our Summer Menu Tasting Session. Our residents all came together to taste test a variety of wonderful homemade dishes made by our Head Chef Michael... after a lot of tasting it was time to cast their votes on what dishes will make the new Summer Menu....because at Horsforth Manor our residents are the decision makers ❤️
