Wow, I did not expect this many people to have booked on to this event 🤩

We have reached capacity on this event now I'm sorry to say 🥺

Can I just politely remind people that there will be a couple of raffles held on the evening which have kindly been gifted by the lovely Jane from Yorkshire Ladies Wear and all monies raised from this will be going towards one of our residents Thrive 25 wish - St Gemmas Hospice...so remember to bring those pennies

Also all clothing that will be modelled (and others) will be available to buy on the evening with a 10% discount 😮 card and cash payments are taken
The bar will be open and stocked for you to purchase a glass or 2 of vino after your complimentry glass has ran out 😉

It is set to be a wonderful evening, and I know I myself is really looking forward to it 🥰

Today we welcomed Lindsey Hall Care Home into our home for a fun filled day 🤡🎈🎪

Upon arrival, residents were welcomed by a vibrant display of red and white, flashing lights, upbeat music, and a diverse selection of treats, including cotton candy, popcorn, ice cream, and donuts.

We 1st went into the lounge and enjoyed a hot drink before the fun began.
Residents then found a seat, and enjoyed looking at the finer details of the table decorations, blowing bubbles and chatting with each other.

It was truly magical ✨️

Following the delightful indoor barbecue prepared by our kitchen staff, we all enjoyed playing the electronic funfair games which were set up in the middle of the room.
These included the strongman game, a coin pusher, a fruit machine, a bowling alley, a punch bag, a game where one knocked down clowns with small balls, and a pinball machine.

We finished the afternoon off with a short quiz, which a team from won and said our farewells for now to our lovely guests 🏆
It was so lovely to see you all and have you at our home 🏡

It was truly a wonderful day, filled with smiles, laughter, friendly competition, engaging conversations, new experiences, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Team Horsforth, your teamwork has once again proven successful! I am immensely proud of each and every one of you and the team that we are, and deeply grateful for all the assistance you provide... it truly brightens our residents' days. 💙 ❤️

One of our quieter coffee mornings today, but still a lovely event with great family and resident engagement.

Everyo e enjoyed sampling some chocolate or Raspberry and blueberry muffins, millionaire shortcake or some vanilla sprinkle cake....which alm smelt and looked delicious 😋

Today we had a couple of games of bingo... We still need to do our Ron a toilet roll bingo ....if you know, you know 😂

Thank you again toall our family members and loved ones that come along tk join us, you not only make your loved ones happy, but us too (sorry for making you jump Jackie McGrath I won't do it again 😂)

On Monday, the Manor hosted a themed event reminiscent of a 1970s rave, expertly organized by Amanda. The ambiance was enhanced with dimmed lighting, closed curtains, and glow sticks.

The residents and their loved ones thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and Amanda's presence consistently brings joy to the Manor.

The Sunday morning gatherings are highly valued by our residents.
During the Sunday session, participants engaged in discussions regarding the "confession box" and various places of worship.
Residents actively participated and expressed enjoyment in acquiring new information from one another. At times, the session concludes with a prayer specific to our friendship group, while other times, we conclude with the Lord's Prayer, as was the case today.
This activity holds significant importance for several residents, and they all contributed their suggestions for the upcoming meeting's discussion topic. Next week's topic will be "Communion."
We extend an invitation to join us next week; as with all activities, your participation is always welcome.

Last Friday, we hosted our regular coffee morning. Residents and their loved ones convened in the bar area, where they enjoyed delicious homemade refreshments and engaging conversation. Additionally, we facilitated a few rounds of surprise bingo, with prizes concealed within colored bags.

The recent visit to York Gate Perennial Gardens for lunch was a highly enjoyable experience, and the historical insights into York Gate were particularly engaging.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by two dedicated volunteers who escorted us to our private dining area, Sybils Lounge. Once settled, our waitresses, Angela Medd and Emna, provided exceptional service, presenting a remarkably fresh and flavorful lunch.

The meal was widely praised for its taste, although the generous portions left many feeling quite full; however, everyone still managed to enjoy a slice of homemade cake.

Following the meal, we explored the gardens and gift shop, where several residents purchased Christmas presents.

Overall an amazing trip out, thank you again Mark for driving us around and a huge thanknyou to Emma and Angela for your hospitality 👍

Today commenced with a sing along on Haven.
If anyone would be interested in hearing us sing "Morning Has Broken," please feel free to ask, and I am confident that everyone would be delighted 😂🙈

This was then followed by a couple of rounds of hangman, where the residents had to decipher famous landmarks, buildings, and items from a toolbox.

Following lunch, the amusement persisted. On Haven, we engaged in a game of indoor golf. Our Val B was overcome with laughter as she struggled to get the golf ball into the hole, yet seemed to succeed in getting it between my legs perfectly every time, regardless of how far I moved. It certainly provided much amusement.

Val H realized that she was unlikely to become a professional golfer, or perhaps the putter was to blame, she suggested.

Downstairs, we participated in a couple of Rebus quizzes. It was undeniably challenging, but we were all in fits of laughter, and everyone expressed how much they enjoyed the afternoon. One resident mentioned that it was amusing and had people laughing. We all concurred that it couldn't have been better.....well maybe a different type of quiz 😂

Then our Lil came back from the salon looking a million dollars and loved all the compliments she was getting....beautiful ❤️

It was a wonderfully busy day at the Manor, filled with enjoyment, laughter, and social interaction.

I am pleased that we were able to enjoy some fresh air yesterday before the weather took a turn.

We were occupied with maintaining the park's beauty by gathering any litter that had been left behind.
Several of our residents find this activity quite enjoyable, as they feel they are contributing and making a positive impact to their community
During the indoor dominoes game, several residents participated in a friendly competition. Brian and I, at one point, shared the lead, and we loved every minute of it 😂
