What a crazy day, I thought Sunday's were a day of rest 😂

This morning we did a little bit of reminiscing, fabric darts, and a 1940s-1960s object picture quiz ...which led into some great conversations. Have you heard of the Winston Churchill egg or a device that allows a couple to share a cigarette?

This afternoon we did some flower arranging which made our dining tables look beautiful 😍

On ground floor we had a coat hanger competition which brought so many laughs and a great deal of competitiveness 😂
Mavis said, Donna, I have reached the age of 98yrs old and never thrown a coat hanger .... I said that i keep telling her I'm going to find all the things she hasn't done and get her to do them. Anna was so confused at the instructions at 1st, but then she was so determined to do she kept asking for another go.
There was a flaw though, next time we need to use string as the coat hangers were spinning round the pole and flying off 😂

On Tuesday, our residents began their day with an exercise class, which received wonderful feedback from both residents and their family members. Some residents enjoyed a walk around the park, while a few others received visits in their rooms. In the afternoon, some bird feeders were crafted on Haven. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed creating these, and then they were placed in the garden to assist our birds during the frosty weather.

Downstairs, we attempted to make dream catchers. Once everyone became comfortable with the process, it proved to be a brilliant and engaging activity, requiring a great deal of concentration and determination. As residents departed with their completed creations, ready to tske pride of place in their rooms, they expressed a profound sense of pride and happiness 😊

What a way to start the week....

We started off with our morning movement which had a good gathering up and down with great input and rhen this afternoon we tried something a bit different, an afternoon with Doris Day.
There was discussions about her life, relationships, movies and we ended singing a couple of her well known songs 🎵

Residents downstairs have asked for another session all about Marilyn Monroe :)

Our Sunday morning gatherings are getting larger each week especially on our ground floor with fantastic feedback from all our residents. Everyone is welcome to give their input if they wish and to speak freely sharing their beliefs and insights in a safe space.
At the end of each session residents are asked what they would like to talk about next time and one of our residents works alongside Marilyn to plan it all ♥️

Our 1st coffee morning of 2026 proved to be a huge success and was very warmly received.
Families and residents alike eagerly anticipate these gatherings, where they can enjoy homemade treats prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. We were delighted to welcome several new guests who were embraced with great hospitality and thoroughly enjoyed their time with us.

These are no longer going to a weekly event, but will be on twice a month 🥰 Dates will be put out shortly so you can get it penciled in your diary.

This mornings activites sadly had to be postponed due to the black ice as it was a walk outside and coffee at Starbucks :( it was just too dangerous to venture out. So we had chats and a sing along up on our Haven whilst the ladies downstairs chatted and read their newspapers and the gents watched some bargain Hunt in a shed programme, I can't remember it's name 🙈

This afternoon we did some threading up on Haven and played some games on the digital table, played some dominoes and cards, and came to look for some ready books. Ladies downstairs tried their hands at flower arranging which was something they asked for and it went down really well 🌸🌻🌹🌷🌼🌸 whilst some asked for the dominoes
