The human skull…! Magnificent engineering. 22 bones in total. Eight in the cranium, 14 in the face. They are all connected via sutures (joints) and should all move which helps us absorb an impact so to protect the brain. They can become a little sticky or stuck for many reasons such as a trauma/blow, but also from stress, teeth grinding/clenching, dental work, infections, hormones, forward head posture and any accidents further down the body. You do not have to hit your head or face to affect the bones or get a concussion..! This can cause a host of symptoms from headache/migraine, sinusitis and fatigue to pelvic pain, chronic achillies/calf/hamstring strains and incontinence! Craniosacral work can help all this by gently allowing the bones and soft tissues to move again working on the skull and face but also on other parts of the body. It really does bring life and energy back creating a sense of calm. If you’d like to know how this and other manual therapies I use may help you then please get in touch. I’m in Dingwall.
