📢 New blog: Smarter Wheelchair Driving with CoMoveIT

In a recent episode of the mobility podcast Wheel Chat, Anthony spoke with one of the CoMoveIT team about their innovative head-foot wheelchair steering system, the CoMoveIT Smart.

This technology enables people with complex movement disorders to drive a wheelchair independently and often for the first time.

One statistic from their conversation really stood out: 60% of CoMoveIT users had never successfully driven a wheelchair before trying this system.

We recently added Klaxon Klick power assist bikes to our range of wheelchair power add-on solutions, so it was great to make our first delivery of the Klaxon Klick Scrambler to one of customers.

Designed for all terrain types and inclines, the Scrambler is ideal for adventurous individuals or those who live in more rural locations. 🌳

It features a high-performance 750w motor, impressive high torque, and speeds of up to 20 km/h (where legally permissible).

Our customer absolutely loved it, and it certainly put a smile on our faces watching her putting it through its paces. 😊

From the office to the shop floor, last Friday, four of our team swapped their usual work day to volunteer at St Gemma's charity shop in Rothwell 💜

Their mission? Help get hundreds of donations of festive stock ready to sparkle on the shop floor 🎅

Throughout the day, they sorted through donations and steamed mountains of clothes, and we're pretty sure some of them have officially levelled up their laundry skills in the process!

They also found a few (interesting) hidden gems to take home with them.

A huge thanks to St Gemma's Hospice for having us, such an amazing local charity doing incredible work.

We’re already looking forward to our next volunteering day! 🙌

Breaking Boundaries: The Power of Wheelchair Dance ✨

We absolutely loved getting to step inside Northern Ballet to spend a morning experiencing ‘In Motion’, their inclusive wheelchair dance programme, where wheelchair users of all abilities can explore the joy of movement. 🥰

Over 10 weeks, dance artists Kim and Catrina guide the dancers to get creative and gain real confidence, ending with Expressions, an incredible showcase of talent from across Yorkshire. 🌟

Whether using a manual or powered wheelchair, dancers are encouraged to move in new ways, build strength and flexibility, and have a whole lot of fun while doing it!

Ellie’s experience says it all: “I didn’t think I could dance in a wheelchair… but it’s such a friendly group. Kim and Catrina make you feel so comfortable and welcome, they adapt everything to suit you.” ❤️

In Motion is a brilliant example of showing what happens when you create genuinely inclusive spaces. People feel safe, they connect with others, and they surprise themselves.

A huge thank you to Northern Ballet and all the dancers for welcoming us and showing us the true power of inclusive dance. 🙏
