So we had a visit from the lovely Hannah at St.Gemma’s Hospice last week.

Along with our premium lens supplier Essilor, we have been donating money to the hospice for every frame or premium pair of lenses sold since 2016. And we have raised a whopping £7000 so far!!

Incredibly proud of the team and very thankful to all our lovely customers who have made this happen.

Did you know most liquid drugs have a recommended temperature range for storage?

It’s that time of year again when we should be thinking about storing. Most* eye drops recommend storage below 25•c or 30•c. Check the box and look for the temperature symbol.

All our eye drops are chilling in the fridge. Particularly refreshing if you have hay fever symptoms! Feel free to pop in and stock
up your supply. 😎

🌻 H A Y F E V E R A D V I C E 🌻

Itchy irritated eyes? It could be hay fever - even if you have not suffered from it in the past, you can develop symptoms. Here’s some advice from the Association of Optometrists.

Hay fever season is upon us, and The Met office has forecast that the pollen count will be high over the next few days across many areas of England and Wales and with that, comes the onset of hay fever for many people. Please read following advice for those suffering symptoms affecting their eyes:

- Rinse your eyes regularly with a dedicated eye wash to remove any dust and pollen from the surface
- Use a cold compress to provide temporary relief and help reduce inflammation of the eye. Dry eye drops that have been cooled in the fridge can have a similar effect
- Wear sunglasses when outside – wraparound styles offer more protection from pollen
- Switch from contact lenses to spectacles if you develop eye symptoms. Make sure you have an up-to-date pair of prescription spectacles and sunglasses
- Avoid your exposure to pollen by closing windows and keeping surfaces clear with a damp duster
- Avoid going out in the early evening and midmorning when the pollen count is at its highest
