❄️Cold Weather Safety Reminder from SupportiveAction ❄️

As the colder months set in, we want to remind everyone - staff, clients, and families to plan ahead and stay safe during icy and unpredictable winter conditions 💖

🧑‍⚕️ Our Moving & Handling Practitioners -
Dani and the team are here to support safe techniques, especially when slippery surfaces or reduced mobility may increase the risk of falls ❄️🚶‍♀️

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ Our Occupational Therapists -
Our OTs can offer guidance on equipment, environmental changes, and practical strategies to help maintain independence and safety throughout the winter months 🏡🛠️

🌨️ A Few Winter Safety Tips:
✔️ Allow extra travel time for appointments and visits
✔️ Wear appropriate footwear with good grip
✔️ Keep pathways and entrances clear of ice and snow
✔️ Have essential equipment ready and checked
✔️ Plan ahead for weather disruptions to ensure continuity of care
✔️ Check in on vulnerable clients who may need extra support 💗

🎉 New Merch Drop! 🎉
We’ve just received some more of our new merchandise… including our brand-new thermal tumbler! 🥤✨

We’ve been putting it to the test (a lot 😅) and even made a fun little video of us using it on all kinds of occasions, hot drinks, cold drinks, early mornings, busy days… you name it! 🔥❄️😛

And the best part? 👀
We’ll be handing some of these out at the Kids Up North event on December 3rd come find us at Stand C9a! 📍💕

🎀✨ Meet the Team Monday! ✨🎀

This week we’re absolutely delighted to welcome the wonderful Helen to the SupportiveAction team! 💗🌸

Helen joins us as a highly specialist Occupational Therapist with extensive experience supporting children, young people (0–19), and their families. Her practice blends science, play, and compassion, and she is passionate about helping families feel confident, connected, and supported from the very beginning 🤱💞

She brings expertise in:
🌟 Early child development (0–3 years)
🌟 Sensory, play, and motor foundations
🌟 Matrescence & maternal identity
🌟 Neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy
🌟 Neurodivergence including autism
🌟 Emotional regulation, mental health & resilience

Helen’s unique combination of professional knowledge and lived experience allows her to support new and expecting mums through the transformation of matrescence helping them understand their baby’s development, nurture connection, and rediscover themselves along the way 👶💗

And now for a few Fun Facts About Helen! 🎉💖

🚣‍♀️ She’s a former elite athlete who represented Great Britain at the Junior World Rowing Championships!

🇺🇸 She spent a summer working at a children’s camp in the U.S.

🪂 She travelled solo to New Zealand and even went skydiving!

🎹 Outside of work, she loves running, playing the piano, and being a mum 💕

We’re so excited to have Helen on the team, her warmth, expertise, and energy make her such a fantastic addition to SupportiveAction 🌸🤍

Her background in Sales, Business Development, and Office Administration means she knows exactly how to keep everything running smoothly, all while bringing positive energy and a friendly face to everyone she works with! 💕

With a true passion for helping people and a caring, kind nature 🫶, Kerry has spent most of her career in customer-focused roles, always going above and beyond to make a difference. Her amazing communication skills and eye for organisation make her the perfect addition to our team family! 💅
