Thank you for trusting us with your learning and for starting the year prioritising skills that truly make a difference 🩺✨

Occupational Therapy plays a vital role in complex care, and it’s a key part of the support we offer 🧠✨🤝

The fantastic Occupational Therapists we work with highlight exactly why OT input is so important.

OT supports people to live as safely and independently as possible, not by removing all risk, but by understanding it, naming it clearly, and putting the right support and safeguards in place 🛠️💡

This clarity helps protect the individual, their carers, and the wider care team, supporting care plans that are realistic, ethical, and sustainable — particularly in complex and high-risk situations 💚 👥

📣 We’re now accepting new Occupational Therapy referrals 📣

If you’d like to discuss a referral or find out more about our OT support, please get in touch:

A little Re-introduction for anyone new to SupportiveAction 💕

At SupportiveAction, our work starts with people 💗 not checklists ❌, not templates 📄, and not “one-size-fits-all” solutions.

We take the time to understand the whole context around a person’s life, including:

✨ daily routines and real-world environments 🏡

✨ personal goals, values, and priorities 🎯

✨ physical, cognitive, and sensory needs working together 🧠🤍

✨ how to support safety without limiting independence or experience ⚖️

💗 Who we work with

We support children and adults 👶👵 with complex and overlapping needs, including:

• Paediatric and adult care packages 🧑‍⚕️

• Acquired and traumatic brain injury (ABI/TBI) 🧠

• Complex physical disability ♿

• Sensory integration and regulation differences 🌈

🧠 How do we work?

Our approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in everyday life 🌍:

• Moving & handling consultancy embedded into daily care routines 🤝

• Occupational therapy focused on participation, function, and meaningful activity 🛠️

• Sensory-informed strategies that support regulation and engagement 🌿

• Realistic risk management that works in homes, schools, workplaces, and the community 🏠🏫💼

🤍 What guides us?

We believe good support doesn’t just prevent harm, it enables life 💫

That might mean:

• Supporting safe movement and meaningful experiences 🚶‍♀️➡️🌍

• Balancing carer wellbeing with dignity and choice 🤍🫶

• Making space for education, employment, travel, hobbies, and connection 📚💼✈️🎨, not just essential care

If you’re navigating:

✔️ complex needs that don’t fit standard models 🧩

✔️ situations where OT, moving & handling, and sensory needs overlap 🔄

✔️ decisions where safety, quality of life, and autonomy must all be considered ⚖️

💗 SupportiveAction is here to help.

We’re proud to work alongside families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, therapists 🧑‍⚕️, case managers 📋, and care teams 🤝 in complex, very human situations.

Please feel free to drop us a message if you would like any more information 💕

E-Learning vs. In-Person Training:

What’s Best? 🧐

E-learning has its perks ✅ it’s flexible, cost-effective, and works well for covering the basics.

But is it enough to really make a difference? 🤔

When it comes to training, whether it’s moving and handling, CPD development, or even first aid there’s something about in-person training that goes beyond just meeting the standard:

✔️ Interactive learning tailored to the setting and team

✔️ Real-time Q&A with immediate feedback

✔️ Practical, hands-on experience that builds confidence

✔️ A deeper connection with the trainer and other learners

E-learning can sometimes feel like it’s “one-size-fits-all,” but in-person training allows for customisation, addressing the unique challenges and goals of each team or individual.

What do you think?

👉 Do you prefer the convenience of e-learning or the depth of in-person training?

👉 Have you experienced situations where one worked better than the other?

I’d love to hear your thoughts 💭 let’s get the conversation started in the comments!

✨ The Christmas break is officially over for us at SupportiveAction ✨

The mince pies are finished, the decorations are packed away, and we’re back to work today ☺️ refreshed, re-energised, and ready for a new year of training, support, and collaboration 💪💗

As we step into the year ahead, we’re looking forward to continuing our work alongside practitioners, teams, and organisations to support safer practice, person-centred care, and meaningful outcomes 👌

Now we’re curious… 👀

How was everyone’s time off? Did you manage to switch off, or are you still easing back into work mode?

Are you feeling ready to be back in the office, or wishing for just one more day off? 😄

Here’s to a positive, productive year ahead, let’s make it a good one together ✨
