Miranda Arieh Award-winning mental healthcare consultancy and training 🌟 BBC Radio Presenter 📻 Founder of The HEROES Programme, currently expanding through the NHS 📖

Award-winning mental health activist, coach and music/arts practitioner from Leeds, UK. Women’s emotional recovery specialist.

“..Following a lengthy stay in an adolescent psychiatric unit at 14 years old, I learned first-hand, how cold the medical model of mental health treatment can be and set out to learn a better way to alleviate my suffering. I went on course after course, ate up books of sp

iritual teachers, and decided to dedicate my life to transforming my attitudes, trigger reactions and life-long patterns. Sure enough, I started to recognize that all the triggers I felt were an opportunity for spiritual growth and I began to enjoy the process of learning. Of getting to know myself, befriend myself, hold myself…”

Yesterday was my first time back visiting patients at the GP surgery where I originally created HEROES Programme. And a day I will never forget…

I walked into a room filled with people, most of whom I’d never met before - but all of whom had been through the programme I wrote. Witnessing the legacy of recovery that has left in Harehills was mind blowing.

But this has not been a solo mission.

Pictured here are our incredible Lead Facilitators, and Sharon Ness, who have now run HEROES far more times than I have - with overflowing grace, compassion and above all else; consistency. They don’t just teach the work, they live it.

From the first round of introductions, the room hit like BOOM💥 :

🤍 “I finally feel like I have good mental health since finishing HEROES. I used to see my GP every week. I now haven’t been for a year and a half.” 🤯
🤍 “I’m not in flight anymore.”
🤍 “I was suicidal when I was referred… now I’ve found purpose.”
🤍 “I met my inner child through meditating.”
🤍“I can finally be assertive and do things for me”
🤍”My ‘self care’ used to be drink. Now I know I deserve more.”

And the most repeated feedback in the testimonials we collated was “life changing”.

Meeting the HEROES members and hearing their stories was a huge honour for me and my own inner child. I adored connecting with so many brave, remarkable people who’ve chosen to sit with their pain and build a relationship with it instead of avoiding it. YOU ARE ALL THE REAL HEROES 💪🏽

A huge thank you as always to , Business Manager of BHR Primary Care Network, whose guidance, belief and support made HEROES possible - and to HEROES Queens Kiran and Sharon for carrying this work forward with such heart.

To every person who has sat in a HEROES circle, opened up, and chosen healing - just know, as we grow and expand our mission: this is now YOUR legacy too.

Absolutely thrilled to be heading to London tomorrow as one of the final five female-founded businesses selected by Ffoundup and GHO Capital Partners LLP 👩‍💼

It’s an honour to be recognised alongside such a phenomenally inspiring group of women who are all driving meaningful change in health and innovation.

I’ll be representing sharing our mission to transform mental health care, through our unique educational approach which trains people how to work effectively *with* their human experiences of emotional suffering rather than trying to get rid of them… 🤝🏽

Screw hiding.
I’m in a real process rn of waking up to the fear of visibility so many of us have. We may have been consciously or unconsciously taught that it was safer to not be seen, heard and to shrink ourselves. This may either be because our environment was actually unsafe for us in our developmental years, or even just that we were overshadowed by a learnt fear that standing out meant we may run the risk of being rejected.
Honestly screw that. Don’t reject YOURSELF.

This has been MAMMOTH for me to work on personally, and quite a journey with so much learning:

To stretch and tone our nervous systems enough to be able to hold attention and visibility; both in the truth we have to express and also who we actually BE in our authenticity, is extremely healing and it’s high time more people start talkin about this in the healing field. As attention is often riddled with fear and shame, especially for women.

Go be seen babe 🌟

Welcome to the mental health REVOLUTION! And our brand new page 😊

About HEROES:
HEROES (Healing, Education and Recovery Of Emotional Strength) is a ground-breaking trauma recovery programme that is revolutionising mental health care.

Through lived-experience leadership, digital innovation, and unique educational approaches we embed a new standard of compassionate, whole-person healing into mainstream systems—transforming practice, scaling sustainably, and creating systemic change.

Our team:
The Programme was designed by multi award-winning mental health educator, motivational speaker and regular media guest expert Miranda Arieh and is co-directed by Dr Rob Baskind ; Consultant Psychiatrist, ADHD Specialist and Jungian Coach. Together, they are building a new future for mental health service provision, alongside the Executive and Programme Assistant support of Kiran Bhath (all pictured) 🤝🏽

Our mission is simple: to ensure HEROES Programme reaches those who need us the most.

We believe true mental health education isn’t rooted in degrees- it’s rooted in the wisdom of those who have suffered, survived and found meaning.
We take education to the frontline where it belongs: to those who suffer.
We are the first to bring inner child healing into the NHS, alongside our unique SAVE Method®—a pioneering 4-step model that teaches people how to communicate with the parts of themselves in suffering, including supporting the integration of past wounding after childhood trauma. Every emotional trigger becomes a tool for radical self-awareness and personal power.

Our outcomes continue to exceed those of traditional psychotherapy and psychiatry (source PHQ-9).

“The wound is the place that the light enters you”-Rumi

We teach presence above all else—no more avoidance, no more distraction. Just the courage to meet what’s here.

We support anyone living with emotional distress, INCLUDING those with diagnoses of exclusion such as “borderline personality disorder”, complex PTSD, and ADHD.

With HEROES, we create a movement, not just a treatment.

Let’s do this! ✨

First ever music festival completely SOBER!! 🤘🏽And I have to say, my fave ever festival experience yet 🥰 More presence, more fun, more connection, more energy, more peace ✌🏽

Second pic from a previous festie many years ago for comparison. Can’t remember anything about that one, which was standard for me in the past when I would cane it all weekend.

I felt almost embarrassed to post the second pic, but then I realised I’m not at all ashamed of her, or the dark places I’ve been in the past. She’s the reason I’m here, doin what I do.🙏🏼 It feels important to share my transformation; as transformation is everything I teach.

If you’re struggling with addictive habits in whatever form, and feeling “sobriety”, (whatever that may look like for you) is a long way off; all I want to say is

IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN YOU.

Recovery is always possible 🌱🌊

Thanks for the passes 🤝🏽🙏🏼

“Unstable sense of self” is a diagnostic criteria for labelling people with - AKA human beings who have been through prolonged childhood trauma / difficult developmental conditioning / attachment wounding. So in HEROES one of our core foundations for recovery includes holistic IDENTITY work: in depth observations of the self, and of each other in the safe groupwork setting.

It’s quite frankly a privilege for me to witness, every time we run week 5 of the programme, as I did today training up our brand new team of HEROES Practitioners 🥰
To hear the inner workings of people’s internal worlds and support them to shift the way they see themselves where needed, is a privilege I will never take for granted.🙏🏼✨

I came from a shattered sense of self. Who I had been conditioned to believe I was, in my developmental years, is such a far cry from how I see myself now and it’s down to these teachings I am fortunate enough to now be sharing through HEROES.

Through HEROES, we want to remind everyone of the truth of who they are, FAR BEYOND what they’ve been conditioned to believe, or learnt from past trauma, or been told by others / the mental health system.

The HEROES mission stands strong and I’m honoured to be sharing it with our new group of budding facilitators, all who bring such unique talents with their individual personalities.

You see, I don’t believe a personality can be “disordered”. There is perfect “order” to the way we learn to navigate the world following going through complex childhood trauma. It actually makes complete sense. And it NEEDS validating. It is high time. I am so proud that HEROES will be getting rolled out across our city, as a solution for people who have been labelled with “personality disorder” and the like. I am honoured to be able to support people remember the truth of who they are, reclaim their power and witness their glory and worth, as their birthright. No matter what they’ve been through.

Amen 🙏🏼 happy weekend all 🤍

One year grieving the loss of you. A relationship that spanned the majority of my lifetime. My first ever secure attachment.
Don’t know where I’d be now if I hadn’t had the love of this 14 year old boy that tumbled into my life, whose friendship became a lifeline to me when I needed it the very most, while living on my own at 16.
He’d skive off school to make sure I was safe when I was very poorly with my mental health.
He was the only person checking I was ok back then.

This day last year was the most painful day of my entire life. Sincerely even being a teacher of mental health recovery, I didn’t imagine how I’d ever be able to feel ok again. The shock. The heartbreak. Falling to my knees screaming for hours. I’ll never forget it. I didn’t work for over 2 months. I never wrote about it as I couldn’t put it into words. I just threw myself fully into grieving. I couldn’t do anything else.

I live life in happiness again now, in all honesty I am currently living in the deepest happiness of my life, overall consistent happiness I didn’t even know possible. Despite waking up in tears today, remembering.
Remembering you.

And reflecting.
The healing I’ve done of this teenage part of me, frozen in time, over this past year has been exponential. The things I’ve learned about grief I will write one day but not just yet.

I know you’re still with us big man. And the smaller man who saved my life and gave me what no adult caregiver was able to:
The security of knowing I was loveable, and the feeling of safety from the protection you always offered me. Because I hadn’t felt any of those things before you.

I’m so happy I named my daughter after you and now I know why. I am so happy that she will always continue to carry your name.

I think about you every single day. And will continue to do so.

Thank you forever while you rest in power Robin ######x

What a fantastic first day of training up our fresh crew of facilitators / HAC (HEROES Approach Coaching) Practitioners yesterday!

An absolute joy to connect with our new incredible group of 6 compassionate, delightful, open-minded and bright trainees.
7 more full days left of education, growth, connection and empowerment together before they go out into the world and roll out HEROES 🙏🏼

I feel sincerely energised after a full day of training people up with the HEROES modality as this work comes purely straight from my heart, with intention to help people who suffer like I used to, to support staff to develop personally and professionally and to support transformation of mainstream mental health services, in particular for those living with the after effects of complex childhood trauma, and “ / “

I put the latter in brackets as in truth no personality is “disordered” and there is perfect ‘order’ to the way a personality is conditioned..
BUT RE-CONDITIONING IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE ✊🏽

I am so pumped to teach more people how to support their patients to learn the tools, skills, teachings and methods I developed to change my own life.
The methods in HEROES have made living in the joy of recovery possible for me, and countless others now.

Long may we expand to reach those who need us most.

Let’s go 🤍🤝🏽

Sincerely grateful 🙏🏼🥰
