Your Health Companion helps people to record such things as sleep, fatigue, nausea and more - as they experience it.

Known as PATIENT REPORTED OUTCOMES - information vital to help improve care and quality of life.

In the last 20 years, there has been a marked shift internationally in thinking about what health is and how it is measured.

Traditional clinical ways of measuring health and the effects of treatment are increasingly being accompanied by something called a Patient Reported Outcome Measure or PROM.

PROMs are questions that ask patients about THEIR health and quality of life from THEIR POINT OF VIEW.

These questions are the most important and are asked by friends and family, nurses or care staff naturally, eg: “In the last 7 days – have you been sleeping well" or "how would you rate your coughing?”

Your Health Companion has been designed to enable you to record such things as sleep, fatigue, nausea, and more based on how you experience it. You can then understand how your condition has changed over time based on your OWN FEEDBACK.

You can choose to share your feedback with your clinical teams, so they begin to understand how you feel and in turn, help you better.

You'd be surprised just how useful this insight can be... especially in research into new treatments and medicines!

Experience in healthcare is about things like "how long you wait."

Outcome is the "result" of your treatment.

The difference for patients is crucial.

In the last 20 years, there's been a big shift in how we think about health and how it's measured. Traditional methods, like clinical tests, are now often supplemented or replaced by Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).

PROMs ask patients directly about their health and quality of life, from their own perspective. Questions might include, "Have you been sleeping well in the last week?" or "How would you rate your coughing?"

These outcomes are crucial because they're the questions we naturally ask each other and are vital to understanding true patient health.

Your Health Companion collects Outcome data to help people monitor and track their symptoms, side effects and quality of life. What it feels like to live with the condition.

We’re not suggesting you stop filling out experience surveys, but we want you to understand that not all surveys are the same. Outcome-based questionnaires or PROMs are different and have the potential to transform healthcare. This can only happen if patients use their voices and participate in these surveys.

We encourage patients to sign up for Your Health Companion today: www.health-companion.me or from App Stores - search 'Your Health Companion'.
