If an adult is choking, this is the technique to use to dislodge the object from their airway. I am demonstrating on myself what you would need to do for the person choking.
Initially, ask the person to try and cough.
If they are unable to cough, their airway is fully obstructed.
Perform 5 sharp back blows.
If the airway is not cleared
Perform 5 abdominal trusts
If not cleared call 999
Continue this sequence until help arrives
