Helen has recently joined our HQ team and we are delighted to have her 🥰

Helen supports our trainees as they navigate through the birth basics module, along with being on hand to answer your midwifery-type questions as you train with us (and beyond)!

She has been a midwife since 2005 (and a consultant midwife for 6 of those years) she is passionate about informed choice and consent, human rights in maternity care and personalised care. She loves the amazing tools and techniques that hypnobirthing offers and has seen first hand how it can create positive birth experiences!

Hello everyone, I thought it was time I introduced myself a bit more.

I’m Helen and I’m the founder of Amethyst Yoga and Birth. I am a mum to two beautiful girls and we live in Leicester in the U.K.

I have been a midwife for over 20 years and I have worked in all areas of the service, including as a consultant midwife. I am passionate about choice and informed decision making and I have lots of experience in supporting women and families navigate the maternity care system.

I am a hypnobirthing teacher now offering classes across Leicester and South Leicestershire. I believe hypnobirthing is for everyone - no matter where you birth or how you birth. I am excited to offer my wealth of experience as a midwife and my knowledge and expertise in hypnobirthing to offer antenatal and hypnobirthing classes tailored to your individual needs.

I have recently qualified as a women’s yoga therapist and wellness coach. Yoga has helped me immensely in my life, as I navigate the stresses and strains. As a working mum and woman in my 40’s, I understand the challenges women face and I want to help you to use yoga as a tool and lifestyle choice to support you in your life. I hope to launch classes later this year, so keep posted!

Hello, I’m Helen Fakoya and thank you for visiting my page. I have been a qualified midwife since 2005 and now also a hypnobirthing instructor having trained with The Calm Birth School. I am looking forward to sharing the amazing tools and techniques that hypnobirthing offers to enable women and birthing people to have an empowering and positive birth experience! I will initially be launching hypnobirthing classes in the Market Harborough area.

In 2025 I will complete the EMPOWER 300 hour women’s health yoga teacher programme with the amazing YogaBellies and will be launching pregnancy yoga and mum & baby classes in spring/summer 2025 in South Leicester.
