We were lucky to welcome the Mayor of Southend, Nigel Folkard, back to Beauleigh today, where he gave an informative and engaging talk about his role as mayor.

Meanwhile, other residents enjoyed a fun trip out to Towngate Theatre, where they had a fantastic time watching a brilliant show!

Meet The Team Monday!

Abby (Lifestyle Coordinator)

How long have you been working in care?
This is my first role in care, and I started at Beauleigh Court in November last year.

What inspired you to work in this profession?
When I was younger, I used to help my grandmother, who was a senior warden for residential homes in Brentwood. I’ve always loved working with people. I previously worked in education for 10 years, so moving into care felt like a natural progression.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part is making the residents happy through fun activities. I also really enjoy working alongside the Beauleigh team—everyone here is brilliant at what they do.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
I love music and enjoy going to as many gigs and festivals as possible.

Today we were so lucky to be joined by tiny toes ballet Essex Mid and South Their talented young dancers treated us to a beautiful performance inspired by The Hungry Caterpillar.

It was truly heartwarming to see such a lovely intergenerational experience bring everyone together. Thank you so much for coming—we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
