What better way to celebrate National Cheese Day than with good company, great conversation, and plenty of cheese! 🧀🍷

Thank you to everyone who joined our Cheese & Chat event. It was lovely to see residents, friends, family, and members of the local community enjoying a natter together over cheese and wine.

A special thank you to Bradfields farm for attending and showcasing their delicious, farm-made cheeses from their Benfleet farm.

How long have you been working in care?
I’ve been working as an administrator at Beauleigh Court for nearly two months.

What inspired you to work in this profession?
I feel that anyone who works in this industry is genuinely kind and caring. In life, those are the types of people I love to be around, so this role feels like a perfect fit for me.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I love everything about our home. The staff are incredibly supportive, and every resident is amazing. It’s a really positive environment to be part of.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
I enjoy walks along the beach, live music, festivals, and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

We kicked off the day with Sanders Steppers. After that, we slowed things down slightly with a lively game of Jenga, full of laughs, focus, and a bit of friendly competition. To finish the day on a high, we turned back the clock, headed straight into the heart of the 80s, and boogied away to classic throwback tunes, ending the day with plenty of smiles and great vibes all around.

A wonderful day full of choice and enjoyment! We started with relaxing yoga, then spent time at reading club beginning The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The afternoon was filled with smiles as residents enjoyed a cosy movie or a joyful sing-along 🎶💛

I worked as a Quality Surveyor. My job was to check that work was done properly and met the required standards.

What has been your biggest achievement?
The most important thing in my life was becoming a Jehovah’s Witness at the age of 54.

What is your happiest memory?
Travelling around the world. I’ve been to places such as New Zealand and Africa.

If you could go back in time 30 years, what advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell myself to become a Jehovah’s Witness.
