A Burst of Buddleia

Maybe stop and admire the strong colours of this much overlooked tree/shrub. It grows in the most harsh terrain and yet gives an abundance of nectar. Single handedly helping to save both bees and butterflies. A true wild haven .

Mini basket weaving workshop results.

The great thing about these is that you can keep adding to them as you go so they can get more and more intricut.

We both felt we would have the confidence afterwards to give weaving with natural found resources a try at home.

Had a great time learning a new skill with my daughter at a taster workshop by Nicola at Ola.Basketry.

It was well resourced with lots of options of prepared weaving items and a demonstration of how the basket starts off.

We learnt how they would change as they dried. I was surprised about using the rhubarb!

It was a really welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Once we had got past the tricky start it was a very pleasant and theraputic way to spend a few hours.

We were very pleased with our baskets and very happy to support the hard work of a very talented friend and artist/maker.

We would highly recommend anyone to give weaving a go with such a patient and kind teacher like Nicola.

My talented friend is running a workshop tomorrow Sat 9th August 2025
at St.Pauls Church in Letchworth.

A chance to make beautiful mini baskets.
Ideal for tweens, teens and galfriends to catch up whilst learning a new skill together.

I'm helping out and can't wait to learn how to use items foraged from my garden to make beautiful creations.
