Hi all!
Welcome to my page.
The idea for Hidden Pharmacy evolved from a combination of my own forgetfulness, embarrassment and an unexpected medical diagnosis.
In June 2024, I was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer, the treatment causing me to require medication every time I eat, for life. This was a completely asymptomatic diagnosis and I never expected 6 months ago to be in this position.
Prior to this, I led a very active life style. Like any other 22 year old, I was catching flights, camping in a field or hiking whatever hill took my fancy. Always on the go. How on earth was I supposed to remember to bring Creon tablets with me everywhere I went?
The short answer is - I didn't! I spent many days forgetting my tablets and as a result not eating, or leaving social events early. Worse still, when I did remember to bring my pills, I was embarrassed to pull out the bulky 100-pill container they came in, feeling like all eyes were on me. I needed something that didn't interfere with my usual routines to make me feel more 'normal’, and that's where the idea for hidden pharmacy was born.
The idea of Hidden Pharmacy is simple, I make discreet medication keychain carriers for anybody who needs to take medication on the go (and may suffer from forgetfulness from time to time). This can be PERT (like myself), or other medications such as antidepressants, beta-blockers, Imodium, lactase tablets, birth control, paracetamol or ibuprofen!
If you know anybody who would benefit from my pill case carriers, please invite them over!
Love,
Katie
