Happy hooves eal centre is being created to offer the opportunity for everyone to benefit from learning alongside horses. "The psychological benefits of working with horses are being recognised by growing numbers of therapists who work with autistic children, young people with behavioural problems, adults with depression or people with addiction" ( Tracey McVeigh The Guardian ). There is also incr

easing evidence of the positive affect that horses can have for many other groups such as those with eating disorders, dementia, the long term unemployed etc etc so in short everyone can benefit. We have chosen to focus on using Clydesdale horses primarily as we have found despite their great size the have the kindest calmest natures of any horses we have worked with. They are also classed as a rare breed so we hope to also support them in showing the versatility of their breed.

We currently have a rare space available on a Monday afternoons to take some bigger groups such as day centres and care agencies or schools and colleges. We can offer lots of hands on activities from long reining horses, flying owls, handling small animals such as rats, tortoises, millipedes etc as well as more educational or work experience type sessions if required. Prices vary depending on group size, length or session and we can do either one off or block bookings.

This week our Tuesday home Ed group spent sometime making some fruit kebabs before feeding them to the budgies. We also spent some time grooming the mini ponies, bathing the bearded dragon and some of the boys played some football too

Our home Ed groups are every Tuesday 11-1 and Thursday 10-12. No need to book just turn up, £15 a child
