I totally agree with you! We pay our national insurance and that should mean we get top standard care in a timely manner.
HOWEVER
We unfortunately know that this isn’t the world we live in at the moment. The NHS is fantastic, I am not disputing that. But it is under monumental pressure, especially in primary care and the funding simply does not cover the unrelenting demand.
I agree, you should be able to get your blood taken at the GP practice for free, at a convenient time and if you can, then kudos to your practice, they’re obviously doing great. But I know of many people who do not share the same experience and this is where we come in.
Do you need your results quicker than you can get an appointment?
Can they offer you an appointment but only during the school run?
Do you work long hours?
Are you self employed and it would be too costly to lose the time at work?
Are you really nervous or anxious and would feel better at home in your own space with no time pressures?
Do you need to have regular testing and feel like you spend enough time in waiting rooms already?
Are you struggling for transport?
Is an injury making it hard to get out?
Can you frankly just not be bothered to go and do battle with a hospital car park or can’t afford to sit and wait?
Then you are the people we want to help.
Many people already make use of private podiatrists and ear care practitioners. This is a similar kind of service offering speed and flexibility the NHS can’t.
