We’re shining a light on the ways that stress affects women.
Hormonal changes throughout life – from puberty to pregnancy to menopause – can make the physical effects of stress more intense.
Regular small actions can make a big difference though.
✨Try these habits to reduce stress:
🚶‍♀️ Swap doom-scrolling for gentle strolling
💬Talk to someone you trust (great to combine with the above!)
🪷 Use local wellbeing or mental health services when you need – local mental health charity is a good place to start

There are lots of places that can help if you get injured.
Minor Injury Units and the Urgent Treatment Centre (West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance) are for help with injuries that need urgent attention but are not a life or limb emergency.
Think:

🔥 minor burns and scalds

Stress doesn’t just affect how we feel. Over time, it can raise your blood pressure and increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.
And because high blood pressure often has no symptoms – knowing your numbers is one of the simplest ways to protect your health.
What to do if stress is creeping in?
Try quick resets like stepping away from your screen, switching off notifications for a bit, or doing something that makes you smile. 🥰
💚 This month, let’s look after our hearts and our minds…
Take a breather, take a moment… and take your blood pressure!

Children are offered the MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox) vaccine as part of the NHS routine childhood programme.
The number of doses your child is offered depends on when they were born.
Your GP practice will contact you when your child is due.
This World Immunisation Week, it’s a good time to make sure your child is up to date with their vaccinations.

Contact your own dentist first, they may be able to offer urgent advice or help.
Don’t have a dentist? Call Smile Together on 0333 405 0290, Cornwall’s emergency dental service.
Office hours Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
Outside of these hours, call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk for advice and support.
Please do not go to the Minor Injuries Unit or Emergency Department at your local hospital unless it is a life-threatening emergency.
Unsure what to do? Call NHS 111, they will guide you to the right care.
If you live near the Devon-Cornwall border you may find it more convenient to contact Devon Urgent Dental Care through NHS 111 and select option 4 for advice and support.
