The things the coast teaches you.

I spotted this tree, like many along the South West Coast Path - shaped by years of salt, wind and storms, growing at an angle that only makes sense when you see where it stands.

It hasn’t waited for easier times.
It’s adapted, dug in, and kept reaching anyway.

A quiet reminder that we all face tough conditions at times.
But we still get to choose -
to stay stationary, playing victim… or to demand more from the one life we’ve been given. 🌿

Some feelings aren’t meant to be tamed.
They’re meant to be felt, asking quietly for you to listen for just one minute!!

Can you sit with them? Instead of reaching for quick fixes - you might discover something deeper waiting there. 🤍

homesick, three years on.

They warned me that leaving everything I’d ever known would hurt - and they were right.
In those early days, homesickness wasn’t just a feeling, it was a constant ache.
It was in the small words, local banter I no longer heard every day.
It was in the familiar streets, faces and old routines that had quietly shaped who I was.
It was in the memories that lived just beneath the surface, waiting to catch me off guard.

But three years on, something has shifted.
The ache has softened. The edges of the pain have worn smooth.

My circle is smaller now - but quieter, stronger, truer.
The people who stayed close, even across distance, are the ones who still feel like the safety of home.
And the new connections here - they’re only just beginning. It’s been a slow burn, but I’m ok with that too.
Roots take time and the kind that grow deep and steady, I know are built to last.

I’ve learned that home isn’t a single place or a group of people you leave behind.
It’s something you keep building - piece by piece, moment by moment - wherever you choose to belong.

Because while leaving changes you, it also clarifies who and what really matters.
And even if I still get homesick sometimes, I’ve realised that’s just love. Proof that I’ve been lucky enough to have places and people that feel like home.

🌿 Soul Space: A Coastal Pause 🌊

Friday 17 October • 10am • Hannafore Point

A gentle coastal walk created for women who do too much - space to move, breathe, and let the noise fall away.

Born from personal experience of overwhelm, isolation and the constant pull to hold everything together, Soul Space was created with one intention: to make it easier for women to take time out for themselves.

This isn’t a workout or a wellness trend. It’s movement as medicine for your mind - a few miles of sea air, easy conversation, and quiet connection that helps you exhale.

We’ll enjoy a tea or coffee either at halfway point, or at the end. Head home feeling lighter, and a little more like yourself again.

FREE to join. Because wellbeing shouldn’t cost the earth - just a bit of time, fresh air, and good company.

If it speaks to you, DM to join.

🌊 The Walk: Hannafore to Talland Bay

We’ll take a gentle coastal walk from Hannafore Point to Talland Bay, following the South West Coast Path. The route is approximately 3 miles round-trip, mostly level and easy to navigate - perfect for a relaxed, reflective walk.

I’ve been to the gorgeous Jess Sneyd Motts Cottage Retreats sauna many times, but not since before summer. Last night I finally booked time out for me and went back - and it reminded me why I love it so much. 🔥✨

The warmth, the stillness, the connection with others, the space itself and the nature all around… it was exactly the reset my body and mind needed. I walked out feeling calmer, lighter, and full of energy again - something I’ve been lacking these last few weeks.

Sometimes all it takes is returning to those little rituals that make us feel whole again. đź’›

Hello 👋🏼

I haven’t disappeared. I’ve just been living on the margin!!

You know the one? That thin line between “I’ve got this” and “life is too f* much!.”

One child starting high school, the other starting primary. A new job. A house to run. Life admin that never ends: school apps, kit days, key dates, trips. And on top of that, the “shoulds”: drink the water, get the steps in, fit in the workouts, stay healthy, stay present.

Most days, I’m walking the margin. Some days, the tiniest of things, a missed email, a kit mix-up, a routine shift - and boom💥 it tips into overwhelm.

The older I’m getting, and the more I’m understanding how my brain works, the more aware I am of how quickly things tip for me.

But here’s the thing, I know I’m not the only one. I think a lot of us live here. Doing our best. Carrying a lot. Quietly wondering how thin the line really is? 🤔

If that’s you, I see you too. 💖

This week for me will be all about rest, because I’m slowly learning that’s exactly what I need.
