Today Tash & Natalie reunited John with his friends at Apuldram. John’s parents founded the charity along with other parents of children, now adults, with learning disabilities. Jon spent many happy years living here and it was great to take him back with some of our residents to learn more about his past. Thank you everyone for a lovely afternoon.

Thank you to everyone that joined us at Liss Royal British Legion Club for our monthly community get together! It was great to see so many care homes and people from the community come together. Special thanks to those brave enough to take the mic 🎤! See you on Friday 29th August for our next event !

As part of our reminiscing project Tash took some residents to Stroud Evening WI , which she belongs to, for coffee and cake for their open day. Both Mavis and Brenda were members of WI in their home towns before they moved to us. At 92, Mary is even considering joining one ! It’s never too late to meet new people !

This afternoon we took some of our lovely ladies to Bordon to watch Woolmer Forest Community Choir summer concert at St Marks church.

Up until recently, our very own Brenda was a member of this Choir. For us to be able to take her to see a concert she was once apart of for so many years was very special.

The video attached was a song they had rehearsed to be able to dedicate to her today and one of Brenda's favourites ❤️

Our Mildred needs no introduction......
At 98 years old, she is an absolute Gem of a lady!
Always up for a song, a dance and a giggle.
We adore you Mildred ❤️

A little update for our relatives about our Deputy Manager, Pam. Some of you may know by now that she has been off on leave as she had a diagnosis of Breast Cancer.

Pam has had a double mastectomy in April, a spell of convalescence at Milkwood House, and some chemotherapy which is ongoing.

Pam hopes to be back as soon as she can, but in the meantime, she is taking the opportunity to spend some time with her little dog, Kaya.
