Selenite has been used for hundreds of years in naturopathy; an alternative medicine, without the use of drugs. It aids in relieving tension, headaches, lack of concentration and outbursts of emotion. It is also used to alleviate hormonal imbalance and is a special healing stone for sexual organs and is used during pregnancy.

Selenite is associated with the Moon, named after the goddess Selene and can bring forth the energies of our subconscious and enhance intuition. As it is a stone of mental clarity, selenite aids in the decision making process helping us to make rational decision rather than making those based on temporary emotions. It is a useful stone for meditation and for dispelling negative energy. Selenite cannot only remove energy blocks from our bodies and minds, it can do the same for other stones and can help cleanse and charge them.

Discharge these lovely crystals once a month by running BRIEFLY under tepid water and pat dry. Some say not to get it wet as it will dissolve in water but I’ve never had an issue; nor has it made it brittle. The key word is briefly.

Citrine, one of my favorites, has long been recognized as the stone of light, sun and life. It was believed to have life-saving properties and was worn on the chest of soldiers. For almost 6,000 years, citrine has been highly regarded as a healing stone; the more intense and pure the color, the greater its healing properties.

This stone corresponds to the solar plexus and parts of the body directly connected to it, liver, spleen, stomach and small intestine. The nervous system is greatly influenced by citrine and works well for children who have a difficult time concentrating in school. It helps combat stress, has a detoxifying effect, a positive influence on the metabolism and strengthens the immune system. To achieve the best healing effects, citrine should be placed directly on the skin.

Citrine helps to boost confidence and can give renewed determination. It helps to ward off nightmares to aid in a good nights sleep and also promotes psychic awareness.

It is a stone of abundance and manifestation, attracting wealth and prosperity, success and all things good. It also encourages generosity and sharing good fortune. Overall, citrine is a wonderful stone to own.

It should never be combined with rock crystals. To cleanse, hold under warm running water immediately after use.

Basil is considered one of the healthiest herbs, carrying quite the list of nutrients, such as vitamin K and A, along with iron, calcium, manganese, magnesium, vitamin C and potassium. Basil also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits.

On a magickal plane, if you have an upcoming job interview, carry basil or sprinkle an infusion outside of the building where you hoped to be employed, for luck and success. Keep a pot of basil in your place of business to attract prosperity and success.

The scent of basil can create sympathy and soothe tempers, a great herb for relationships!! It is also said to be the herb of fidelity. It can drive away hostile energies and dispels confusion, fears and emotional weakness. Sprinkled about the house, basil keeps evil forces away.

The scent of basil essential oil is uplifting, energizing, and clarifying. When used on the skin, it is said to nourish, soothe, exfoliate, and brighten.
