Last week our Clean Brake participants got stuck straight in, learning the mechanics behind the bike, not just how to ride it. 🔧🚲

From identifying the different parts of a bike to getting hands-on with basic maintenance, the session gave everyone the chance to understand how their bikes actually work.

Building these practical skills is a big part of the programme, helping participants grow in confidence, independence, and knowledge while becoming more comfortable on two wheels.

Step by step, we’re turning curiosity into real skills. 💪

HerSpace continues to grow. 🌱

HerSpace is more than a programme. It’s a safe and supportive space where young people can build confidence, strengthen their wellbeing, and develop routines that support their personal growth.

Over the past months we’ve seen participants engage openly, support one another, and begin taking ownership of their development. Through discussion, reflection and shared experiences, young people are finding their voice and growing in confidence.

As HerSpace evolves, our focus remains on creating culturally responsive and inclusive spaces where young people feel heard, supported and empowered.

We’re proud of the progress being made and excited to see the programme continue to grow.

Learning the basics 🚲

In this Clean Brake session, young riders were introduced to the key parts of a bike before heading out together for a practical ride.

Understanding how a bike works is the first step to riding with confidence and the best way to learn is by getting out and doing it.

A new step forward for Cycle of Life 🚲

We are now delivering the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as a licensed organisation 🏅, strengthening the progression pathway within our programmes.

By embedding nationally recognised accreditation into community-based delivery, young people can develop skills, resilience and accountability while working towards a recognised award.

This milestone reflects the continued evolution of Cycle of Life and our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people across Liverpool 🌍

Enterprise in motion. 🚲

Our On The Go programme is officially underway! A 12-week cargo bike enterprise project supporting young people aged 16–25 to develop real-world business skills.

Through hands-on sessions, participants explore budgeting, marketing, compliance and operations, while gaining practical experience running micro-enterprise ideas using cargo bikes.

By connecting mobility with opportunity, the programme helps young people build confidence, financial literacy and the skills needed to turn ideas into action.

Five years ago, Cycle of Life focused on improving access to mobility. Today, that mobility is becoming a pathway to enterprise, opportunity and long-term impact.

More updates coming soon👀

Building skills. Creating opportunities.‼️

Over the past few weeks, young people on our Youth Social Action programme have been getting hands-on across a range of practical sessions designed to build confidence and real-world skills.

From designing merchandise and branding ideas for Scouse Ballers and Cycle of Life, to filming short-form media content, participants explored creativity and storytelling.

The group then worked with our cargo bikes, delivering food and drink while learning how bikes can support community projects and micro-enterprise ideas.

Alongside this, sessions also focused on employability, including CV development and exploring pathways into work.

Programmes like this are about more than activity, they’re about building confidence, skills and opportunities for the future.

More to come. 🚀
