How someone looks does not define their knowledge, talent, worth or success Be inspired by someones mind, creativity and their ability to care, instead of how they look or how many followers they have!!
Theres too much focus on asthetics and how people look
Its ruining the fitness industry
Social media is becoming toxic and full of false infomation that can be damaging
People are chasing the next “quick fix” and chasing the desire to be a smaller version of themselves
We are so much more than our physical body
We bring more to the world
Its a noisy industry and there are too many people out there now just jumping on the bandwagon, providing silly “fixes” and convincing us that we are broken and need to be fixed - and we dont
Its something I feel really passionate about I dont recognise the industry and the people joining it
Its not why I joined 22 years ago
Im finding it hard to keep finding the cause for what I believe in
I got into fitness in (hopefully) inspire, educate and empower people
, to help people, because I care
It makes me sad to see how its changed
Theres no governing body and no standards and that to me is mental
Im no expert but I know my s**t and I care...but my belly hangs over my leggings
sometimes....so does that negate my worth??? NO
Please stop following crazy fads and using jabs an pills an juices Look after yourself Make it sustainable
Do your research
Stop taking advice from people based on their appearance
We are being sold stuff thats is making us believe we are good enough as we are
We are being led to believe we “need” it to be betterl happier/more liked
You are enough as you are We all have insecurities and these companies/people know that and they use that as a anchor to sell an promote their “amazing”
product
You dont need to change
“Detoxes” are bulls**t
Your body has its own detox system and as long as you stay hydrated and eat well then itll detox all on its own
The marketing is good
It looks attractive, It builds a story and makes us “want” what they are offering
We dont need it but we want it
Think long term, Think of your hormones, Think of your cycle Think of your health
Nothing is worth damaging that

Lately I’ve been catching my reflection and feeling a strange disconnect.

I look in the mirror and the woman staring back at me feels… unfamiliar.

My body has changed so much through perimenopause that some days it honestly feels alien. Clothes that used to make me feel confident suddenly don’t sit the same. My shape is different. My skin feels different. Even getting dressed can feel confusing — like I don’t quite know what to do with this body anymore or how to dress the woman I see now.

Some weeks it hits harder than others. Some weeks I walk into the classroom to teach and feel like an imposter standing at the front of the room… even though I know deep down I’m still the same capable woman I’ve always been.

And that’s hard to admit.

But I also want to say something important — it’s okay to feel this way. It’s okay to grieve the changes, to feel confused in your own skin, to have days where your confidence wobbles.

Perimenopause can shake parts of you that you thought were solid.

But maybe this phase isn’t about trying to force ourselves back into who we were.

Maybe it’s about learning to meet ourselves again… with a little more compassion.

And if you’re standing in front of the mirror feeling the same way — confused, emotional, disconnected — please know you’re not the only one.

You’re not failing.
You’re not broken.
You’re human. 🤍
