With some new followers, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself.
Hi I’m Christy 👋 📸 thank you
I’m a trauma informed singing for well-being facilitator. Without any formal musical training… you may be wondering how on earth did you find yourself facilitating groups to support maternal health and well-being?
I found a class run by Rachel Waite when my son was about 7 months old. I was recovering from a traumatic burn injury and having therapy for PTSD. Singing Mamas was a lighthouse in a storm for me. I had new mum challenges, but I was also navigating permanent scaring, nerve damage, pain and PTSD.
Singing Mamas was a constant in my life. I enjoyed myself, expressed myself…. I found myself again. I found my voice. I found my confidence. I found friendships. I found a village 🧡
My PTSD therapy was coming to an end and my therapist asked what’s your longer term goals for reclaiming your life?
I responded…. I’m going to train to be a singing mamas leader 🎶
I got brave and I mean REALLY brave and I signed up for international training. It was INCREDIBLE.
I started a pilot group at .cc the feedback was just WOW. So I decided to GO FOR IT.
Here I am…. Working alongside incredible women, providing impactful offerings to perinatal women.
Huge thank you to Rachel for being the catalyst and for the support you pour into me and my journey 🧡🔥🎶
I’ll post a little more about my work experience and why I’m passionate about creating a trauma informed offer. What my long term goals are with song leading and an exciting project I’ll be working on!
