The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost 🌳

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
I’ve loved this poem for a while now but I really felt the words on this morning’s walk.
Summer’s end is in sight, autumn’s calling and new plans are taking shape 🥰

Thank you to lovely Liz for sharing these kind words about how she feels after our Friday morning classes. I’m grateful that you found us! 🥰
I’ve still not got round to writing a post about why I felt called to start teaching yoga in the first place but it is on my to do list 🤣.
For now though, I can say that it was motivated by the sense that what yoga gives us off the mat is far more important than the poses we try to get ourselves into when we’re on the mat and I think Liz’s words speak to this.
Yes, yoga will help us develop strength, flexibility and balance - all of which are important, especially as we age.
But the unseen benefits of yoga are often what get us hooked and ultimately, have the most profound impact on us 💕.

🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️Over the last month or so, I’ve dusted off my trainers and been getting out for more runs.
I’ve set myself a goal of one run a week and I’m hoping to return to a point where running 5K feels a little more effortless (I’m not there yet - hence the red face in the pics 🤣).
Anyway, inspired by a recent conversation with my awesome hairdresser and running hero , here are my 4 favourite post-run yoga stretches 💕
Remember there’s *always* time to stretch out after your run. Try these out & your body will thank you 🙏

Poses in pics:

1️⃣ Reclining hand-to-big-toe pose variation: targets the hamstrings and calves

2️⃣ Reclined pigeon pose: releases tension in the hip flexors, glutes and piriformis muscle.

3️⃣ Runners lunge: stretches hamstrings, hips and ankles.

4️⃣ Downward Facing Dog: stretches the whole back line of the body - hamstrings, calves and spine.

GIFTS FROM MOTHER NATURE 🌼🐝
We’ve planted many things in the garden since we moved to this house 12 or so years ago but poppies aren’t one of them.
So it was surprising to see orange poppies springing up in the beds for the first time last year.
This year, the poppies are back - more in number and with some yellow ones too. The bees absolutely love them.
Glad to have finally caught a snap of one bee enjoying themselves rolling around in the pollen, trumpeting loudly. Looked and sounded like they were having a wonderful time 🤗.
Thank you, Mother Nature, for the flowers and the bees, and for all the gifts you share with us 🌍
