🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️Over the last month or so, I’ve dusted off my trainers and been getting out for more runs.
I’ve set myself a goal of one run a week and I’m hoping to return to a point where running 5K feels a little more effortless (I’m not there yet - hence the red face in the pics 🤣).
Anyway, inspired by a recent conversation with my awesome hairdresser and running hero , here are my 4 favourite post-run yoga stretches 💕
Remember there’s *always* time to stretch out after your run. Try these out & your body will thank you 🙏

Poses in pics:

1️⃣ Reclining hand-to-big-toe pose variation: targets the hamstrings and calves

2️⃣ Reclined pigeon pose: releases tension in the hip flexors, glutes and piriformis muscle.

3️⃣ Runners lunge: stretches hamstrings, hips and ankles.

4️⃣ Downward Facing Dog: stretches the whole back line of the body - hamstrings, calves and spine.

GIFTS FROM MOTHER NATURE 🌼🐝
We’ve planted many things in the garden since we moved to this house 12 or so years ago but poppies aren’t one of them.
So it was surprising to see orange poppies springing up in the beds for the first time last year.
This year, the poppies are back - more in number and with some yellow ones too. The bees absolutely love them.
Glad to have finally caught a snap of one bee enjoying themselves rolling around in the pollen, trumpeting loudly. Looked and sounded like they were having a wonderful time 🤗.
Thank you, Mother Nature, for the flowers and the bees, and for all the gifts you share with us 🌍

🌍 3 yoga practices to ground you this Earth Day 🌱

Earth Day is a good time to pause, breathe and reconnect with nature. Try these simple, beginner-friendly yoga practices to help you feel more grounded … 🌏💚

🧘‍♀️ 1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
Stand tall and steady like a mountain. Feet planted, spine long, chest open. This posture helps us feel strong, grounded and connected to the Earth. Try it barefoot outdoors for an extra grounding boost.

🧘 2. Earth-Focused Meditation
Find a comfortable seat and gently close your eyes. Let your breath flow naturally, imagine roots growing from your body into the Earth, anchoring you in stillness and calm. Stay here for 5–10 minutes, simply being.

🌿 3. Mindful Walking in Nature
Step outside and walk slowly—barefoot if the weather / circumstances allow! Notice the sensations underfoot, the sounds around you, the breeze on your skin. Let every step be a quiet thank you to the planet we call home.

It’s been a joy teaching yoga over the last few weeks in one of Liverpool’s most iconic places - the magnificent Sefton Park Palm House.

Coming together to practise among the plants and birds, while looking up to the skies at dusk has felt super special - especially at this time of year.

Thank you to everyone who’s dropped in - I’m grateful for your time and trust 🙏🏻 And thank you for your donations which support the work of the Sefton Park Palm House Preservation Trust.

I have one last class this coming Tuesday - it’d be lovely to see you.
