We are incredibly proud to share that Ashbourne Care Home, part of Summit Care Group, has been named a finalist at the Healthcare Design Awards 2026 in the ESG Project of the Year category 🏆🌎

The Healthcare Design Awards recognise excellence and innovation across the health and social care property sector.

Ashbourne Care Home has focused on range of ESG improvements, including air source heat pumps, solar panels, battery storage, enhanced insulation and LED upgrades, all designed to reduce carbon emissions, improve efficiency and enhance the living environment for residents and colleagues.

This recognition reflects our long-term commitment to sustainability, responsible investment and creating care environments that are fit for the future.

Yesterday was International Women's Day, and at Summit Care Group, we are celebrating the extraordinary women who shape our homes every single day. 💙💛

The women who lead.
The women who care.
The women who support.
And the women who inspire us through their life stories.

Many of the ladies in our homes grew up during or just after the war.

They are a generation defined by resilience.

They learned to make do and mend.

They raised families through uncertainty.
They worked hard, often without recognition, and carried responsibility with quiet strength.

They have lived through change, challenge and history.

Their stories are filled with courage, determination and love.

In our homes, we have former nurses, teachers, mothers, businesswomen, community leaders and women whose greatest achievement was holding their families together through difficult times.

Each story matters. Each life has shaped the world. 🌍

We are equally proud of the incredible women who work across Summit Care Group and We Care Group, who show compassion, leadership and strength every day in the way they support residents and one another.

Residents at Acacia Bank recently took part in a structured group exercise session designed to support strength, balance and confidence. 🙆🏼 💙💛

Regular, guided movement has significant physical benefits, improving circulation, flexibility and coordination, but the impact goes far beyond that.

Exercising together creates motivation, encouragement and shared energy that is not the same when someone is alone at home.

Being part of a group of peers, supported by a dedicated team, makes movement more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable.

At Summit Care Group, our teams carefully plan and source structured wellbeing sessions to ensure residents' physical and mental well-being is as good as it possibly can be.

It is one of the many advantages of living in a supportive, community-focused environment, where physical health and mental well-being are nurtured together.

Chair Yoga & Relaxation at Acacia Bank 💙💛

Recently residents at Acacia Bank Care Home enjoyed a Chair Yoga and Relaxation session.

Designed to support mobility, balance and flexibility, chair-based exercises allow everyone to take part safely and comfortably.

These sessions help to improve circulation, reduce stiffness and promote overall wellbeing, all while encouraging residents to stay active and engaged. 🧘🏼

Yesterday we had a flipping good time celebrating Pancake Day across Summit Care Group. 💙💛

For many of our residents, pancake day brings back simple, happy memories! 🥞

Standing in the kitchen in the 1950s and 1960s, handwritten recipes on the side, the smell of batter in the pan, and the all-important debate over sugar and lemon or jam. 🍋

Throughout our homes, the conversations flowed just as easily as the batter. Residents shared stories of family traditions, favourite toppings and the little tricks their mum or dad swore by when it came to the perfect pancake.

It's so much more than food and the impressive flipping skills, it was a wonderful afternoon all round.

Music has a powerful way of reaching people. 🎶🎤📻
