A Soul’s Journey Beyond the Veil
In this season where many spiritual paths honour life’s sacred cycles — Easter’s resurrection, Beltane’s fire of fertility and connection, ancestral rites from various traditions — we’ve found ourselves walking the tender path of loss.
My husband and I have just received the news that his beloved grandfather has transitioned from this earthly plane, at the graceful age of 90.
He was a radiant soul — wise, kind, and deeply grounding. A man who saw the light in others. He often spoke with reverence about my academic journey, and his gentle pride always felt like a quiet blessing — one that anchored me in moments of doubt.
Now, as his soul returns to the Great Mystery, we are being asked to learn what it means to live in his absence — or perhaps, to live differently with his presence.
Grief, I’ve come to realise, is not just about what’s lost — it’s also about the love that still flows, unbound by time or space.
In this liminal space between what was and what is becoming, we honour his spirit, trusting that he has returned to the embrace of the Ancestors, and that he now walks with us in unseen ways.
If you too are holding grief in one hand and rebirth in the other this season — may you feel held, guided, and gently reminded:
We are never truly alone. And love, once woven, does not unravel.
