Hi there!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has followed me on this page. I am just starting out as a yoga teacher and it means so much to have your support.

If you don't know me yet, I became a yoga teacher last year, with my 200 hour Yoga Scotland qualification. I am still studying for my 500 hour one and have a few assessments to get through over the next few months. I study in Edinburgh along with a bunch of really great fellow students!

I am running classes on Monday and Thursday morning at Cill Mhanach Wellness Studio and Bellsquarry Village Hall respectively. I hope to do more classes once I get through my assessments. My classes are for all levels and you can expect a more gentle and nurturing class, with many options to suit everyone. I like to break down the poses to allow time so that you can really find your own yoga practice.

I'm also a wife and mum of two fantastic teenage girls. I like cycling and walking outside, swimming and doing yoga of course!

Virabhadrasana I (Sanskrit), or Warrior I, is a foundational standing pose to feel strong and light. It is great for strengthening the legs, arms and back. And, the upward flow of energy in the upper body can give you a feeling of lightness.

You can practice Warrior I with the arms up overhead and a slight bend in the elbows to soften through the shoulders. And you can also practice it with the arms down by your sides, on your hips or in prayer position at the chest.

Give it a try and see how it feels!

Yoga is a lovely way to combat stress and anxiety. We all have it. Modern life can be rushed and busy. Taking time regularly to check in with yourself on a yoga mat can be life changing. You can find the space to breathe, move, stretch and balance.

Classes are on;

Mondays 9.30am at Cill Mhanach Wellness Studio, Seafield, West Lothian, EH47 7AL. Thursdays 9.30am at Bellsquarry Village Hall, Livingston, EH54 9AA.

There are mats and blocks to use. You just need to bring yourself!

Classes are £7 drop in or £35 for a block of 6.

Crane pose is one of my favourite poses! It is one of the more demanding poses that I can actually do! I think some people can do certain poses fairly easily or naturally and others find them impossible. We are all different in our bodies. The main thing is to give it a go and not take yourself too seriously. If you fall, just have a laugh and get back up again. If it's not for you, that's ok. Just keep practicing and try again another day.

Beginners are welcome. It’s a gentle and slow paced class. A perfect way to begin a Monday or Thursday morning! Classes cost £7.
