In the lead up to what would have been Barney’s 6-month milestone, we’re raising money in his memory.

We’ve put together a small keepsake pack which includes a keyring, forget-me-not seeds and a small keepsake card.

If you’d like one, we’re asking for a suggested donation of £5, plus £2 postage. The cost of postage and materials will be deducted, with all remaining funds being donated in Barney’s Army's name.

If you would like a pack, please comment below or send a private message to the Barney’s Army account stating how many you would like and whether you would prefer collection, drop-off or postage.

If cost is a worry, please still feel free to request a pack — we’d still love you to have one. Donations can be made whenever suits you.

I will keep a note of all comments and messages and will try to reply to everyone, but if I don’t respond straight away, please know your request has been noted. If we receive more orders than expected, I will order additional supplies, but this may mean a longer wait for some packs.

Due to ordering and delivery times, packs will be sent out in May — but all funds raised are part of marking Barney’s 6 months and keeping his memory alive.

💙LOVE PERSISTS💙

On Saturday, Barney’s mummy and daddy got married — a day filled with love, emotion, and strength. A reminder that even in the deepest grief, there is still space for moments of light.
Barney is part of every step forward. Not left behind, not forgotten — just carried differently. In the smiles, in the tears, in the love that keeps growing around him.

To anyone walking a similar path… it’s okay to keep living. It’s okay to celebrate, to laugh, to find joy again. That doesn’t mean you’ve moved on — it means you’re moving forward, with them beside you in a different way.

Their tiny feet will always leave the biggest footprints.

6 months since Barney was born. Happy half birthday, little man.

Grief isn’t one thing — it changes all the time. Some days feel lighter. Other days it’s really heavy again and comes out of nowhere. It doesn’t really leave, it just becomes part of everyday life. Something that sits alongside everything else.

Barney’s in all of it now — the small reminders, the quiet moments, the things that stop everything for a second. This is often painful, but also comforting and how he stays close.

For anyone else living with child loss, you’re not on your own. They will always be part of everything and loved always.

💙HAPPY EASTER💙

Easter is a time of hope, light and new beginnings, and a reminder of how strong love can be.

Today our son Barney is remembered with so much love. He continues to be part of every season, every smile and every moment that matters.

While he is deeply missed, he is forever carried with us in memories, in laughter and in the love that never fades.

Thinking of all families remembering someone special today. May this Easter bring moments of peace, warmth and gentle hope.

💙FLOWER PRESERVATION💙

These pieces have been made using the flowers from our beautiful boy’s funeral. Knowing they’ve been preserved like this means we can keep a part of him with us forever.

From jewellery to this stunning frame, every piece holds so much love and memory. It brings us comfort to be able to see and wear something that came from such a meaningful day.

💙MOTHER'S DAY💙

Mother’s Day can be a beautiful day for many — full of love, family and celebration. But for some mothers, it can also be one of the hardest days of the year.

Today, many women will be thinking about babies who should be in their arms but instead live in their hearts. Some of us are navigating our very first Mother’s Day without our child. Others have been walking this path for years.

Motherhood doesn’t disappear because a baby is no longer here. Love like that doesn’t end.

To every mother missing a child today: you are still a mother. Your baby still matters. Your love is still real.

And if today feels heavy, please know you are not alone.

💙HOME LIBRARY💙

We’re in the process of creating a home library. Reading has been incredibly therapeutic for us during our grief, and we’d love to grow it with the help of our community.

If you have any books you’re planning to part with, we would be very grateful to give them a new home (we would collect / pay for postage). For every book donated, we will add £1 to Barney’s Army’s fundraising pot.

Our hope is that, over time, the library can also be shared with others — loaning donated books out for free to anyone who would like one, with optional donations that can also go towards Barney’s Army's fund.

Thank you so much for helping us develop something that has helped us through a difficult time, into something positive for others to also enjoy.

When we lose someone, the entire landscape of our life changes.

We grieve, not only the person, but their place in our lives and in our hopes and dreams.

Their absence changes everything about what we see and what the future looks like.

Yet, their love still remains steadily underneath the pain of it all.

Their love plays a role in our hopes and dreams and futures.

Soft and steady. Continuing.

Still there. Still there..

And we take that love with us into each new day in whatever way we can.

And we bring them with us.

And we know in our hearts that their love plays just as big of a role now as it did before.

Because when we love deeply, we love forever. ❤️

Valentine’s Day is a day centred around love in all its forms — the love we hold, the love we remember, and the love that continues even when someone isn’t here with us.

For those who are grieving, today can feel especially heavy. And for those who haven’t experienced loss, it’s a gentle reminder to hold your loved ones close and cherish the moments you have. Love doesn’t end when someone is gone — it changes, it stays, and it becomes part of who we are.

Today is simply about love, in every form it takes.

Welcome to Barney’s Army.

This page was created in loving memory of our precious son, Barney.

Barney’s Army is a space to honour his life, keep his name spoken, and allow something good to grow from the love we have for him. It is also a place for our family, friends, and others to share remembrance, support, and awareness around baby and child loss.

We are not a registered charity. Any donations kindly given through this page are personally gifted by us, in Barney’s name, to causes, families, and organisations supporting babies, children, and families going through difficult times. This will vary in frequency but all moneys raised will go directly to the described causes.
