When we lose someone, the entire landscape of our life changes.

We grieve, not only the person, but their place in our lives and in our hopes and dreams.

Their absence changes everything about what we see and what the future looks like.

Yet, their love still remains steadily underneath the pain of it all.

Their love plays a role in our hopes and dreams and futures.

Soft and steady. Continuing.

Still there. Still there..

And we take that love with us into each new day in whatever way we can.

And we bring them with us.

And we know in our hearts that their love plays just as big of a role now as it did before.

Because when we love deeply, we love forever. ❤️

Valentine’s Day is a day centred around love in all its forms — the love we hold, the love we remember, and the love that continues even when someone isn’t here with us.

For those who are grieving, today can feel especially heavy. And for those who haven’t experienced loss, it’s a gentle reminder to hold your loved ones close and cherish the moments you have. Love doesn’t end when someone is gone — it changes, it stays, and it becomes part of who we are.

Today is simply about love, in every form it takes.

Welcome to Barney’s Army 💙

This page was created in loving memory of our precious son, Barney.

Barney’s Army is a space to honour his life, keep his name spoken, and allow something good to grow from the love we have for him. It is also a place for our family, friends, and others to share remembrance, support, and awareness around baby and child loss.

We are not a registered charity. Any donations kindly given through this page are personally gifted by us, in Barney’s name, to causes, families, and organisations supporting babies, children, and families going through difficult times. This will vary in frequency but all moneys raised will go directly to the described causes.

Donations can be made via -
- Direct bank transfer (Ailsa Kellett, 04-00-03, 33143572, Reference - Barney)
- PayPal (barneysarmy141025@outlook.com). Choosing the family and friends option would remove the fee but happy for you to choose business if you prefer. Ailsa just created this account so it is in her soon-to-be married surname Pearce 😊)
