I'd love to give you all an update on where I am with my massage work. I'm back but not back back! 👇

As many of you know, I was out of action last year with a frozen shoulder which was horrendous (plus other perimenopause-related challenges. Oh the joys) It gave me plenty of time to think about my future 🤔

Early this year, I have started my long-term training to become a Person-centred Counsellor 😊 I'm also doing other Social Studies quals & courses throughout the year alongside my voluntary Helpline Advisor role and continuing with my little home help business. Yes, I'm so used to juggling many moving parts being self-employed over 20yrs...old habits die hard.

Regarding my massage work, I'm not resurrecting it per se and have been incorporating it into my home help work these past years but am happy to offer a very small mobile service locally particularly to previous clients to fit in around all of the above!

Finally, as it's the year of the Fire Horse (and my 50th) I thought I'd match my hair to its dynamic & transformative energy 🔥 I hope you all enjoy this fiery, bold & abundant year ahead.

This morning I had the pleasure of giving a 40mins gentle massage to a new client in a local nursing home. A very thoughtful gift from her son for Mother's Day.

I adapted the massage as the lady was only able to receive it in her electric riser recliner chair. She wanted the focus to be on her legs, feet & back. The lavender oil being diffused went down a treat as did the choice of massage oils & soothing music.

So special to be able to give a loving, healing touch to someone in their twilight years & I'm re-booked for a fortnight's time 🙏❤️

Putting feelers out for a live-in (dog friendly) opportunity perhaps a year round glamping business or retreat centre where I could:
- offer guests wonderful massage treatments
- help out in the office with guest bookings
- assist with Housekeeping/gardening/any animal husbandry

Open to ideas! Can start August. Preferably split shifts to work around my two dogs. Geographically mobile (UK as sadly no EU passport)

If anyone has any leads or can keep their eyes peeled, I'd be very grateful 🙏❤️

Tomorrow's back clinic (Friday 13th) has had to be cancelled due to too many cancellations & sadly some clients not respecting the 48 hour cancellation policy.

**New Venue until end of the year**

I have 3 weeks of my Back Clinic remaining & Llantwit Town Council have kindly swapped me over into the Heritage Centre from tomorrow, Friday 6th until 21st as the boiler continues to misbehave in The Old School Room.

With the ongoing issues with broken boiler at The Old School Room (they ordered a new one but wasn't right size so have to re-order then have new one fitted) it's just too cold to hold the Back Clinic this Friday 🥶 Sadly the 2 heaters in place don't make much difference in such a large stone walled room. And I have to wear a t-shirt because I need bare elbows to do the acupressure!

I will keep you updated when the Town Council updates me.

Fingers crossed the 6th, 7th, 13th, 20th & 21st December clinics can go ahead but as I'm sure you'll understand, it's out of my control.

It is with a heavy heart & after much agonising that I've decided not to continue with my Back Clinic in the New Year.

Despite all my efforts & success, the bottom line is I'm just not making enough with all my self employment activities to consistently cover my basic living costs in these economically challenging times & have worn myself out trying.

Time to re-think & achieve more stability and financial security for me.

A massive thank you to each and everyone of you for coming along to my Back Clinic since May this year especially to my loyal regulars!

With the cost of room hire increasing in the New Year, I will be raising my prices from Saturday 4th January 2025 which is the first Back Clinic after the Christmas break at The Gathering Place. Any gift vouchers sold now for intended use for 2025 will be charged at the higher rate.

Once I've heard back from the Town Hall regarding their exact increase, I will confirm...but my prices are likely to rise from £20 to £23/£24.

First session in The Old School Room is Friday 10th January.

I have set my prices as low as possible this year but with rising costs, I have to charge more 🙏 I trust you will understand & still view it as a good investment!
