Returning home to Koh Samui 🏝 for a yearly retreat is not only about resting and recharging, but also about revitalizing our creativity and energy to the fullest. Every time we spend time with our family, surrounded by nature and familiar local cuisine, the fatigue from a year of hard work completely disappears.
This year is even more special. Some of you may have already heard that we've prepared a wellness project on the island for Thamma fans who are interested in health and wellness tourism with us. This project reflects the changing values of people who see good sleep, avoiding junk food, and taking care of their health as new life goals, making "Health and Wellness the new luxury."
This year, the vision of the project is even clearer.
Shamy is enjoying a whole month staying in a local rural village on the island, surrounded by coconut trees, tropical fruit trees, singing birds, and insects that hum all day long. The sun rises at six o’clock-ish and sets at six-ish every evening. Life moves at the same unhurried rhythm every day —laid-back, simple, and grounded. He lives like the locals live, eats what they eat, and plays the way they play.
One afternoon, he stretched out under the shade of a coconut tree and said, “We, the Western folks, work very hard, but we don’t live a well-balanced life the way we should. The world is moving too fast. Everything feels intense, rushed, and noisy. Here, people don’t have much, but they seem to have time — time to talk, to laugh, to rest, and to truly live. Maybe balance isn’t about having more, but about needing less.” 🌴🌴
