🚨🚨 📍 Location: IOE Bedford Way (20), room tbc  ⏰ Entry from 6:45 PM (Doors close at 7 PM) 🍽 Refreshments will be provided!

Today is World Cancer Day, a day to acknowledge, raise awareness and advocate for those suffering from cancer .This also marks the start of a 3 year global cancer campaign titled ‘United by unique,’ which aims to put people at the heart of cancer care and to see those battling with cancer as individuals with unique journeys , not just as patients defined by their diagnoses . This is an exciting opportunity to build lasting networks and learn from leading healthcare experts who share similar interests and career goals to you by being paired with a mentor. More information will be shared soon and the application form will go up at the end of the month so keep your eyes out for it and let us know if you have any questions!

✨We are hosting a fundraising concert on February the 13th to raise funds for , an organization working to rebuild and relocate disaster prone villages and provide disaster risk reduction training in Nepal and we are looking for any and all UCL performers to make this event a reality and a success. We are hosting a charity fundraiser to raise funds for Involve Nepal, an organization that aims to help provide disaster risk reduction training, rebuild and develop infrastructure, and end the cycle of poverty through education and sustainable solutions in Sindhupalchok, Nepal. They are currently trying to rebuild the homes of 7 families who were impacted by floods, earthquakes and landslides, and we will be holding a concert to fundraiser for them. Today marks World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease day . COPD is the fourth leading cause of death globally according to the WHO, and in the UK alone , around 14 million people are currently living with COPD, with many cases still undiagnosed . Smoking is the biggest underlying cause of the disease , and quitting smoking can help improve symptoms and prevent disease progression , although the disease is not curable. World COPD Day is an initiative organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) each year to raise awareness for and open the discussion up about COPD . Each year is centered around a theme and this years theme is ‘Know Your Lung Function.’ Visit their website for more details
