*WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS AND CONTRACEPTION*

🤮Weight loss jabs can sometimes cause vomiting and diarrhoea as a side effect

🔬Recent research shows that weight loss injections can reduce how effective oral contraception can be.

🗓️ This is particularly the case during the first 4 weeks of starting the injections or within the first 4 weeks of a change in dose.

☢️ It is safer to use extra protection during these times such as condoms whilst continuing your pill.

🩼 Coils, implants and long acting injections are not affected and are available here at Summerfield as an alternative option. Do not stop taking your current oral contraception whilst considering a switch.

Norovirus is a stomach bug that causes vomiting and diarrhoea. Washing your hands frequently with soap and water is the best way to stop it spreading. Alcohol hand gels Do NOT kill Norovirus.
