Studies now show that trauma disrupts autonomic regulation, alters gut microbiota, and fuels chronic inflammation (Porges, 2011; Mayer, 2011).

Fasting isn’t radical… eating around the clock is. We were never created to eat like we do now.

When we constantly feed, the body rarely gets a chance to shift out of digestion mode and into healing mode. Around 16–20 hours into a fast, autophagy begins — your body’s natural recycling system that clears out damaged cells and supports cellular renewal.

Many symptoms we label as “normal”, like fatigue, joint pain, or brain fog, are often signs of impaired cellular cleanup. Fasting reactivates the body’s built-in repair mechanisms that modern lifestyles suppress.
