Today is World Mental Health Day! The theme this year being ‘Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority'. Mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities, impacting everyone. World Mental Health Day is also a day to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling. The Mental Health Foundation has provided its ‘Best Mental Health Tips’, read them here - https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/explore-mental-health/publications/our-best-mental-health-tips

Businesses also have a part to play. They are in a powerful position to positively influence the mental wellbeing of their employees and the benefits of doing that are numerous, at both the individual and organisational level. That's why NEBOSH and the Health and Safety Executive collaborated on a new qualification to help prevent and manage stress in the workplace. Today is World Mental Health Day!

The day is organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) and this year’s theme is ‘Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority’.

According to the WHO, it is estimated that 15 per cent of the world’s working age adults have a mental disorder, costing the global economy around $1 trillion.

IOSH is supporting the day and will be highlighting the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing to prevent mental health issues at work.
