You Me & Babiee

You Me & Babiee Bulk billing postnatal home visits in the comfort of your own home 🏡 💕 I'm Donna a Registered Nurse, Midwife and Lactation Consultant. It is truly amazing!

Im a mum, IBCLC, Endorsed Midwife and RN-I have always had a passion for helping others & love the satisfaction of helping family's on their feeding/breastfeeding journeys. Originally from the UK I have been on the Gold Coast since 2004. I started out always having an involvement with children from a young age which has now progressed into my amazing career. I have a beautiful little boy who is my world 🌎 💙
I used to help out at the hospital child care centre when I was younger and I have also done lots of nannying & babysitting for numerous professional families on the Gold Coast, privately and for an agency, as well as back in England. I have volunteered my time with the kids at Radio Lollipop & Kidney Health Australia, to now being a highly trained registered nurse, midwife & Lactation Consultant.
My experience has been across all areas of Antenatal Care, Labour and delivery, Special Care Nursery and Postnatal support. I continue to work in one of the Gold Coast's busiest Private Hospitals and also work alongside some of the busiest obstetricians. I am very passionate about helping families with their newborns/babies/toddlers and love the satisfaction & gratitude families feel when things they struggled with start to go the way they want, which in my eyes is a great achievement and extremely rewarding. Its the little things that count! I am a keen traveller and love exploring this amazing world we live in. There are some beautiful countries to visit and I am slowly ticking them off my bucket list! I love experiencing all the different cultures and ways of life that are so different to our own. From my own personal breastfeeding journey I know the trials and tribulations which can make the journey even more challenging so am very compassionate and understanding. I look forward to helping lots more families and families to be on their new parenting adventure. Please don't hesitate to call or email me with any questions or concerns :-)

xoxo Donna xoxo

⚠️ Important ⚠️

Your instinct after a car accident is to get your child out immediately. It makes sense - but it may not be the safest thing to do.

According to ANZCOR, if your child is conscious after a crash, leave them in their car seat or capsule until ambulance personnel arrive.

Of course, if there is immediate danger - fire, flooding, or an unsafe environment - remove your child as carefully as possible. If you need to move them and it's safe to do so, keep them in their seat and move the seat with them.

Here's why this matters 👇

Moving a child after an accident (even a minor one) might impact their injuries. The car seat is designed to hold and support them. Let it do its job until the professionals arrive.

Swipe to see what the guidelines say, and save this post, because this is one of those things you hope you never need, but need to know before you do.

“Hide the plug”

This comment on our recent bath safety reel is such an important reminder.

A parent once shared a story with us that we’ve never forgotten.

One early morning, her adventurous 2-year-old woke up before everyone else, pulled a stool into the bathroom, climbed into the bath, put the plug in and turned the tap on.

By the time his older brother woke the parents, the bath was overflowing… and the little one had been trying to get out but was exhausted and kneeling in the water.

Thankfully he was okay - but it was an incredibly close call.

We often remind parents to remove the plug after bath time so water can’t sit in the tub.

But it’s also worth thinking about where the plug is stored between baths, because toddlers can surprise us with what they’re capable of.

✔️ Remove the plug after bathing
✔️ Store it somewhere little hands can’t reach

Small changes can make a big difference.

Shared from I understand the appeal of baby sleep nests. They look perfectly cozy but as a former paramedic, my heart sinks when I see them. I have seen firsthand what happens when a sleep surface goes wrong. Suffocation is silent and it is a heartbreak I never want another family to experience 💔

Because a baby’s head is heavy and their airways are delicate, they need a flat, firm surface to keep their airway open. In a plush pod, a chin can easily drop to the chest, quietly compromising their airway.

Under the new ACCC standards, Australian retailers can no longer legally sell or market these soft, inclined products for sleep. But legislation alone cannot protect every baby.

A recent US study showed that even after millions of inclined sleepers were recalled at least 50 infants still tragically lost their lives in those exact products.

Laws only stop new products hitting the shelves. They do not remove the millions of unsafe sleep nests already in our homes, being sold secondhand or lovingly passed down by family and friends.

This is exactly why knowledge matters. Let’s be the community that shares this message, so every parent feels empowered and every baby sleeps safely 🤍

✨️ Positive Vibes ✨️

Positivity to help shape our beautiful little people to be kind, caring and strong humans that have trust and empower each other, not put each other down.

We live in a cruel world 🌎 and can only do the best we can to raise our beautiful little ones to be the best versions of themselves they can be whilst still being respectful and loving ❤️ 🫶

🔆 Ever feel like you are getting thirsty all of a sudden during a breastfeed?

🔆 This is completely normal and can occur more frequently when having a let down or multiple let downs.

🔆 Always ensure you are drinking at least 2-3L water a day whilst breastfeeding to stay hydrated.
