What, exactly, makes avocado such a superfood?

🥑Avocados are high in monounsaturated fat, which is a "good" fat that helps lower bad cholesterol - it’s high in calories tough so eat them in moderation.

🥑Avocados offer lots of vitamins and minerals such as potassium, folate, vitamin B6, vitaminC and vitamin E.

🥑Avocados are low in sugar and contain fiber, which helps you feel full longer.

A healthy lifestyle that includes nutritious food can help prevent and reverse disease. Avocados are a definitely a healthy food you want to add unless you are allergic to it.

I am so unhappy. I want to lose weight but I can’t.

I have lost weight but I am still unhappy.

Why?

“It is not just the diet; it’s not just the lack of exercise..it is the mental part we need help with.”

Are you using food as a coping mechanism, which will eventually become a source of distress?

Feeling our mind is as import as feeding our body.

Start feeding your the mind enough positive..the right decisions will come and the weight will change.

November is National Diabetes Month!

I was just a teenager when a doctor told me I had type 2 diabetes.

My weight was in the healthy range and had no major symptoms. I knew that, to manage/reverse it, I had to make few changes in my lifestyle. Here is what I did:

🥗started eating healthier food and drastically reduced highly processed/high in sugar food

🏋🏻‍♀️made exercise my priority

I was then diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my second pregnancy and again I managed it through food and exercise.

I am at high risk of developing it again later in life and that’s one of the reason why a healthy lifestyle is a priority for me.

Type 1 diabetes is different as it’a thought to be caused by an autoimmune reaction and daily dose of insulin is required to survive.

Here are the main symptoms of diabetes:

▪️feeling very thirsty
▪️peeing more frequently than usual, particularly at night
▪️feeling very tired
▪️weight loss and loss of muscle bulk
▪️itching around the p***s or va**na, or frequent episodes of thrush
▪️cuts or wounds that heal slowly
▪️blurred vision

If you experience any of the above, go and get your blood sugar level checked.

Let this be YOUR month!

I know there are many people out there who lack of self-confidence.

This might be one of your greatest weakness but can be surmounted.

Here is a self-confidence formula suggested by Napoleon Hill in his “think and grow rich” book.

Addressing shape checking!

A common form of shape checking is studying specific parts of your body in the mirror, pinching or touching your body, assessing the tightness of particular items of clothing or accessories (such as watches or rings), and looking at the extent to which your thighs spread out when you sit down.

Shape checking is unhelpful either when it is extreme (when it involves scrutiny) or when it is frequent because both forms of checking tend to exaggerate concerns about shape and appearance.

If you are someone who looks into the mirror a lot, ask yourself questions like:

▪️Why do I do it?
▪️How often do I look in the mirror?
▪️How long do i take?
▪️What am I trying to find out?
▪️What are the reasons to look in the mirror?
▪️How can I avoid the “magnification” that comes from scrutiny?
▪️What about looking at myself naked in the mirror?

Your aim should be to become aware of your mirror use in real time and seriously question yourself before engaging in it.

Use it judiciously and try to become better at interpreting what you see.

Remember: you are much more than what you see in the mirror!
