Ready to give my next Zen Shiatsu session today.

This treatment will include cupping therapy to support my client with a back issue.

While Zen Shiatsu is traditionally performed on a futon mat on the floor, in this session I’ll be using a massage table because it gives greater comfort and accessibility for some clients.

The phrase that says things come into your life for a reason, a season, or for life refers to the positive aspect of a relationship that is for an immediate purpose, for a longer period, or becomes a loving, lifelong companion.

This same phrase matches my relationship with Zen Shiatsu.

A Reason -

I knew from my first experience of Shiatsu that it had the criteria I was looking for to help people on multiple levels.
It gives me the ability to support your main reason for coming to see me.

A Season -

In the three years to get my diploma, not only were the possibilities of healing and well-being taught to us, but it was also about self-reflection and growth. This was an important time in my life.

Every treatment you have brings change. Sometimes the outcome is like night and day, and sometimes it is like the changing of the seasons.

For Life -

Zen Shiatsu has become my loving, lifelong bodywork therapy to explore.
This requires dedication, because the learning in this vast system is continuous.

With the bodywork treatments I offer, it is my passion to give you a better quality of life.

The foundation of Zen Shiatsu is thousands of years old. The name came a lot later, but the importance of touch as a healing remedy is an instinctive part of the animal kingdom.

Masunaga said,
"It is only when the ego is surrendered, that the mere pressure on the body becomes a supportive vital force towards health".

I take this to imply, that when there is compassion and purpose to the touch, the exchange in the treatment allows for self-regulation to begin.
