Ruby’s practice blends ornament and function, using lost wax casting to reinterpret stories through a feminine-q***r lens. Drawing from mythology, superstition, medieval literature, and the Renaissance, the work explores the boundary of over-embellishment.

The process is crucial. The deliberate act of casting wax into metal - quite literally - solidifies narratives, inviting interaction with each painstaking detail to reveal the story. Through use of the object, these stories are celebrated and brought to the forefront of the viewers experience.

Introducing emerging artist Ruby Taglight ().

Ruby is a British jeweller and metal artist.

Her practice blends ornament and function, drawing from mythology, superstition, medieval literature, and the Renaissance, the work explores the boundary of over-embellishment.

Through a feminine-q***r lens, the process is crucial. The deliberate act of casting wax into metal - quite literally - solidifies narratives, inviting interaction with each painstaking detail to reveal the story. Through use of the object, these stories are celebrated and brought to the forefront of the viewers experience.

Ruby trained as a fine artist at the Glasgow School of Art with a BA in Painting and Printmaking. She then achieved a graduate gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America.

Ruby received Jewellery Designer of the Year by Stephen Webster in association with Skydiamond, New Designers 2013. She was also awarded Stars in the Making Award by the Goldsmith’s Centre 2022.

We welcome Ruby as part of the CB-Art Group family and are honoured to have her join the agency.

In keeping with our post summer catch up, we would like to wish our stunning artist Sadie Clayton () a very warm and huge congratulations on bringing baby Koa into the world this June 🩷🩵 xx

Sadie is a copper sculptor exploring the intersection of spirituality, technology and remedial practice. Where the ethereal touches the engineered, Sadie’s practice spans limitation, delving into both liminal and environmental spaces with equal measure. Her bicultural lens envisions and manifests sculptures that investigate the fertile interplay of spirit and western mysticism.

Sadie’s work, ‘Amplification’ (2022) was on display in the RA Summer Exhibition.

We are an innovative artists agency committed to amplifying voices on the periphery of the art world. We welcome baby Koa into the CB-Art Group family. This will be the third child into the fold as we build our business around family structures. Emphasising collaboration, nurture and care.

And we are back.

After an extended summer break, myself and the artists have quite literally been transforming, developing, growing and changing. Which is of course what artists do. However, this summer seems to have been quite profound for all of us.

We are thrilled to announce that commission slots for ‘Graft’ are now open in response to our artist El Hoskyns-Abrahall’s very personal journey in transition.

El is opening up a limited run of commission slots for a line of jewellery of which the proceeds will go directly towards their top surgery fund. The design is a life cast ni**le, a ni**le graft, and will be available in the form of a brooch, pendant, earrings or even just an art object in its own right.

El is open to any bespoke suggestions that you may have.

Please see Els page (.hoskyns) for further details. Or feel welcome to contact us at info@cb-artgroup.com.

Congratulations to our artist Elena Hoskyns-Abrahall (.hoskyns) showing in Fuego De Tierra at Alice Black Gallery () and curated by Bee Beardsworth ().

Elena uses storytelling to address themes of gender, identity politics and q***r theory. Taking objects synonymous with contentious tropes of adolescence, the artist transforms them into embodiments of desire using precious materials and casting processes.

Fuego De Tierra is showing until 17 May.

Sadie is a British sculptural artist specialising in working with copper metal exploring the intersection of spirituality, technology and remedial practice.

Sadie’s bicultural lens envisions and manifests sculptures that investigate the fertile interplay of spirit and Western mysticism. Her innate passion for the potential of copper imbues with a metaphorical femininity and quite literal radiance.

Beautifully crafted wearable sculpture from our artist Elena Hoskyns Abrahall (.hoskyns).

Taking objects symbolising the shameful tropes of adolescence, the artist transforms them into objects of desire using precious materials and casting processes. A poignant juxtaposition of material and subject culminating in an esoteric vignette, playing with and heightening the nostalgia and romance of adolescence through a trans-masculine lens.

Some of these objects will be on display next week at Els solo presentation titled ‘Charming’, a curated project from our new gallery . The presentation will take place at Collect Art Fair 2024 (). Collect is the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design.

View of Elena Hoskyns-Abrahall’s (.hoskyns) installation at Soft & Hard: Beyond Recognition and Q***r Coding exhibition curated by Whiskey Chow ().

Living in different timelines of LGBTQIA+ movements, and constantly negotiating with complex power dynamics from intersectional and cross-cultural perspectives, Q***r artists often invent new visual approaches to address their desires and concerns.

Soft & Hard investigates how new generations of Q***r artists create space for themselves and their community through art that goes beyond vanity, hyper sexuality and gender performativity.

The exhibition features recent RCA graduates artists, Elena Hoskyns-Abrahall, Emma Sheehy, Hongmin An, Jim Rampage, Leonie Cameron, Net Warner, Sean Synnuck, Sojung Park, Yuqing Lin, Candice Dehnavi, Maya Erin Masuda, Theresa Weber, Rose Arbuthnott and Whiskey Chow.

Until 16 March
