It's important you look after yourself and vulnerable family, friends and neighbours as the cold weather can impact our health.

These are some things you can do to help yourself stay well:

💉 Get your winter vaccines
✔️ Heat the rooms you regularly use to at least 18 degrees
🧥 Wear extra layers of clothing
🍲 Make sure you have enough food
💊 Stock up on your medication.

It's also important you look out for older or vulnerable relatives, friends and neighbours who may need some extra help.

If you do become unwell and it’s not an emergency use NHS 111 online or your local pharmacy can give advice and treat seven common conditions without you seeing a doctor.

Children under 6 are now being offered the MMRV vaccine instead of MMR as part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme.

This replaces the existing MMR vaccine and adds protection against chickenpox, alongside measles, mumps and rubella.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will contact you when your child is due.

3. Call 999 in an emergency when someone is seriously ill or their life is at risk.

4. You will be contacted if your appointment needs to be changed.
