The prevalence of MC use amongst the armed forces in Canada is a testament to the reduced stigma level overseas 🇨🇦

Canada's medical program has existed since 2001, and the availability of the medicine has led to a large uptake in service personnel.

The benefit of this option being available is one of the many reasons why we are proud to provide our UK medical access scheme. The GAP (Grow Access Project) reduces fees for veterans, as well as students, Blue Light Card holders, and those receiving benefits.

April is Awareness Month — an important time to shine a light on a condition that affects around 1 in 10 people in the UK.

Despite being so common, irritable bowel syndrome is often misunderstood and underdiagnosed. Raising awareness helps break the stigma, encourages open conversations, and supports those living with daily discomfort.

Have you heard of Jess's Law? In February of this year, as a result of this campaign, the Royal College of GP's has started to roll out training for family doctors to raise awareness of the increase of cancer cases in young people 🎗️

The new guidance also urges GPs to introduce the concept of "three strikes and rethink", which is when a patient comes back to you 3 times about the same issue, you should review the case and refer to a specialist. The "Jess's Law" campaign on change.org is collecting signatures to turn this into legislation.

We support Jess’s Law because of the sheer number of our patients who have had similar experiences, where conditions have worsened because of a lack of treatment.

👏 A landmark move for patients' rights in Wales!

Flintshire Council has become the first local authority in Wales to introduce official protections for MC patients. A huge step forward for patients and a powerful reminder that prescribed medicine deserves respect, not judgement.

The new policy will protect council tenants and staff who are legally prescribed CBMPs - ensuring they won’t face discrimination for using their medication.

It also aims to raise awareness, tackle stigma, and educate partner organisations like North Wales Police about the legal use of MC.
