Very special to be at the 3PUK Conference on Tuesday, five of us attended - Susan, Derrick, Siobhan, Nici and Liliana from our “Coproducing from the Inside Out’ team. Kate and Lou couldn’t make it but their presence was felt.

We talked about the value of working from a Three Principles understanding whilst also consciously remaining alighted with the values of co-production.
This project resulted in the delivery of a program in a women’s refuge.

This way of working is being evaluated by us in collaboration with Co- production Collective at UCL. However, even before evaluating anything, the team is blown away by what’s happening for ourselves individually, us as a team, and the impact on the cohort we have worked with.
We will expand further on that as it unfolds.

We also had the pleasure of having Vanessa Bennett on the panel and George Halfin supporting us in the audience, both representing Co-Production Collective.

Co-Production from the the inside-Out

We are proud and excited to have received funding from The Co-Production Collective in conjunction with Co-production collective at UCL to explore how working in a Co-Productive way might impact our ability to engage with those we want to help.
This new project is well underway, and we are loving what it is showing us.

Thank you so much George Halfin for your support and encouragement in applying for this amazing project. Without you we wouldn’t have even known about it 🙏🏼

What is Co-Production?
Co-production is people working together to design and deliver services with meaningful and sustainable impact. It is a meeting of minds and hearts to reach a shared solution.
Genuine Co-Production in research and services has been limited. Those who will actually be affected by a project or programme don’t often get the chance to influence its design and development.
This is especially the case for certain groups and communities whose voices have historically been excluded from power and decision-making.
But times are changing! Co-production is on the up across different sectors and settings. People with lived experience are working alongside researchers, policymakers, or healthcare practitioners, in one team, improving lives together in a sustainable way.

For The Big Simple
We like to believe that we have always worked in this way. But have we truly? Doing so with intention and focus is showing us how much we have assumed on past projects. How much our insecurities may have played a part in stepping back rather than forward in increasing the reach of this life-changing work. As an organisation we can see the gaps we were papering over, and it is humbling to understand how those gaps can be filled by truly listening to the voices of people with experience different from ours - which is where The Team comes in:

Introducing Co Production From The Inside Out
Siobhan Kunadu-Yiadom, Derrick Mason, Kate Sherwell and Nici Butchart bring a wealth of life and professional experience. Alongside The Big Simple’ founders Liliana Bellini, Susan Marmot and Louise Scott we believe we have everything we need for Phase 1 – Exploring Engagement.
We are all seeing the beauty and value in listening to each other with an open mind. This allows a space to open up, within which the creativity in each of us can be heard.
We are noticing the ups and downs of engaging with organisations and seeing how effortless it can be when we appreciate those sometimes-quieter voices and the wisdom that comes through when we feel comfortable and respected by those around us, whoever we are.
From a Big Simple perspective, it feels different. And so far, it seems to be working. We have been in discussions with a number of community organisations who are keen to parteciptevin this project.
Our intention for Phase 2 is to co-produce with our chosen organisation and allow their understanding and experience to shape how we deliver in Phase 3.
We are immensely grateful to Innate Health Research and Nici Butchart’s kind and careful guidance in exploring innovative and inclusive ways to evidence this journey. And of course, to UCL and the Co-Production Collectivefor giving us this opportunity to learn. We are loving it,every step of the way.
Watch this space to see how things go…..

Mental health is our most natural state of being.
When we don’t experience ourself as mentally healthy
it does not mean that we have lost or ability to do so.
We remain perfectly capable of being happy and peaceful within ourselves and within our lives.

Understanding the power of our minds uncovers that part of ourselves that is happy and well.
Nothing and nobody can diminish or damage that.

We hold monthly in-person meet-ups in London if you wish to understand more about this fresh approach to mental health
Below are the details to our next meeting

Relationships

Really wanting to be in one or having troubles remaining in one ….
Give this podcast a listen 🎁 😍

New Podcast episode by .hector,
guest speaker Susan Marmot

In this episode Cecilia Hector and Susan Marmot, a coach, mentor, and program facilitator from the UK, delve deeper into the topic of Relationships and share our own life experiences from the heart.

Susan is one of the founders of The Big Simple along with Liliana Bellini and Louise Scott. A enterprise that supports care leavers and young adults at risk in finding their ability to thrive and lead fulfilling lives.

In our conversation, they explore the importance of our relationship with ourselves and how our inner world influences our perception of others.

As we feel on the inside, we see the world.

When we feel better and happier, we think better and receive more meaningful solutions and answers.

This was something Susan shared that she had struggled with in many years before she came across the understanding of The three principles.

In every relationship, the experience always begins within ourselves and how we feel in the moment. Our inner compass is always there to guide us so we can feel safe walking through life with all that life brings us. We just have to be aware, grounded, and truly listen deeply within. What is called following your heart, one’s intention, gut feeling. It is a soulful space beyond our temporary and sometimes stormy feelings “emotional pains”, fluctuating thoughts, the ‘noise in our head’.

With this deeper knowing, you come to a relationship in a very different, clearer, and more loving way.

You have raised consciousness and your being.
