When I was learning to drive, I was taught to religiously carry out the six-point checks before moving off.

Two of those checks required me to look over my left and right shoulders, beyond what the mirrors could show me. Those quick glances were to check for hazards hidden in my blind spots.

Miss that final shoulder check, and you could easily fail your test.

I was reminded of that lesson today during my discussion with a friend.

Blind spots aren’t just physical. They’re not only about what our mirrors can’t see on the road.

Blind spots are the unseen areas of our character.
Our biases.
Our habits.
Our triggers.
Our limitations.

The things others may notice but we don’t.
The patterns we repeat but rarely ask the question "Why?.

“There are no coincidences. Only doors you didn’t have the courage to walk through. Only blind spots you weren’t brave enough to see. Only tones you refused to admit you could hear.” — Sara Gran

Growth requires shoulder checks.

It requires the humility to pause and ask: What am I not seeing? What feedback have I been avoiding? What pattern keeps repeating in my relationships, work, or mindset?

Just like on the road, moving forward without checking your blind spots can cost you. In driving, it may cost you a test. In life, it can cost you growth, relationships, or opportunities.

So here’s a question for you:

In what area of your life might there be a blind spot right now?
And what practical step can you take to become more aware of it?

Self-awareness is not automatic. It’s intentional.

Let’s grow; safely, consciously, and courageously.

See you at the top.

19/21 Goals & Fitness Challenge

The greatest challenge you’ll ever face is the person staring back at you in the mirror.
As Brianna Weist would say "The mountain is You" (a fantastic book btw)

It’s You vs You.

Not you versus the world.
Not you versus your peers.
Not you versus social media.

It’s who you were
vs who you are becoming
vs who you desire to be.

Growth begins the moment you shift your attention inward. The more you withdraw energy from external noise and invest it within, the greater your chances of truly winning.

Here’s a pattern I’ve noticed in myself and I’m consciously retraining my mind.

I’m learning that it’s okay to be me.
No judgment.
No shrinking.
Just a girl committed to growing 1% every single day.

It’s okay to learn something new. Learning demands humility and attention.
Failing gives you an advantage, it reveals the gaps and sharpens you.
Succeeding reminds you what’s possible when you apply yourself fully.

Be at peace whether validation comes or not.
Applause is optional.
Inner alignment is essential.

It’s so easy to drift; comparing, competing, measuring yourself against everyone else except your past self. But comparison is a highway to anxiety and dissatisfaction.

There’s a quote often attributed to Nelson Mandela that deeply resonated with me:

“You are a child of God.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God
that is within us.
Its not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same."

When you intentionally shift your focus toward developing the gifts God has placed within you, you become a better steward of what you’ve been entrusted with. Growth is stewardship. Discipline is stewardship. Showing up consistently is part of stewardship.

And stewardship allows your light to shine.

True elevation requires conscious effort. The kind that examines motives, corrects posture, and keeps your spirit aligned and humble.

I am a daily work in progress, refining, stretching, learning and unlearning.

I’d genuinely love to know: what are you intentionally working on right now?

See you at the top.

Day 18/21

Finally… I passed!

Today was my first time driving without a supervisor, without support, without an instructor.

Two days ago, an examiner said “Yes.”
Yes, you are safe to be on the road.
And ever since, whenever I drive, I think about him.
I have this quiet desire to make him proud.

But today, I want to reflect on something deeper — success.
Tony Robbins once said:
“When you succeed, you tend to party. When you fail, you tend to ponder.”
And it’s true.

Failure humbles you.
Failure makes you reflect.
Failure forces growth.
But success?
Success often passes quietly.

After working on this goal for almost a year, visualising it, praying about it, preparing for it, it finally happened. And strangely… I wasn’t even sure how to react.
Of course I was excited but then I noticed the excitement bean to dwindle faster than it came.

It made me realise something:
We agonise over failure.
We analyse it.
We relive it.
But success rarely gets the same energy.

Sometimes we’re so conditioned to self-critique that we underappreciate ourselves. Almost like we’re more comfortable with shame than celebration.
But not anymore.

I’ve decided to stack success.
And to do that, I’m going to intentionally plan ways to celebrate my wins, big and small.

Because success deserves reflection too.
Success deserves gratitude.
Success deserves acknowledgement.
This is not arrogance.
It’s alignment.
Here’s to celebrating growth. 🚗✨

Day 17/21

“Look far ahead into the road.”

This was the phrase my fantastic driving instructor, Fatuma, would always say to me especially when I was drifting between lanes.
The moment I started applying the look far ahead mentality, something changed.
The traffic coming towards me stopped feeling like the problem.
My focus shifted to where I was going and how to prepare for any obstacles ahead.

And now, I’m beginning to apply this principle to every area of my life.

When you look far ahead, superficial goals lose their power.
The need to “win” for validation fades.
You stop chasing immediate feelings.
You start thinking long-term.

Instead of asking:
How can I just pass this test?
You ask:
How can I become an excellent healthcare professional?
Instead of:
How can I build this business?
You ask:
How can I genuinely impact lives?
Instead of:
How can I exercise just to tick a box?
You ask:
How can I train with longevity and long-term strength in mind?
Looking far ahead changes everything.

It shifts you from reactive to intentional.
From emotional to strategic.
From short-term wins to legacy thinking.
When you train yourself to see the bigger picture, you stop drifting.

And when you stop drifting you move with purpose.
Learning to inculcate this practice into your daily habits can phenomenally transform your life.

Look far ahead.
Stay in your lane.
Prepare for what’s coming — and move with vision.

Day 15/21 Goals & Fitness (Read me)

Today I had an opportunity to enjoy this beautiful book (The power of Focus) enroute to fellowship.

Here's a beautiful yet thoughtful quote from the legendary Mandela that I would love to share with you all.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are we not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God
that is within us.
Its not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we ave liberated from our own fears,
our presence automatically liberates others."

Day 12 & 13/21 – Here’s What Life Has Been Teaching Me

Preparation precedes ex*****on.

I was listening to The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett and one statement stood out:
“Sweat the small stuff.”

We often underestimate how much the small details shape the big outcomes.
Preparation builds confidence.
Preparation reduces panic.
Preparation sharpens ex*****on.

But here’s the balance I am learning ...
preparation should position you, not paralyse you.

Too many of us stay stuck in “learning mode”:
• One more course
• One more qualification
• One more plan
• One more confirmation

Knowledge is powerful.
But knowledge without action is wasted potential.

The longer you wait to act, the more you could pay:
– Lost opportunities
– Reduced confidence
– Delayed growth
– Increased fear

I have noticed Perfectionism is often fear wearing a professional outfit.

Another lesson?
Ask questions. I'm taking on the challenge of asking questions.
Clarity accelerates growth.
Silence slows it down.

And finally; fail fast.

Failure is feedback.
Failure is refinement.
Failure is tuition.

The goal isn’t to avoid mistakes.
The goal is to learn faster than you fear.

Preparation builds the foundation.
Action builds momentum.
Questions build clarity.
Failure builds wisdom.
Life rewards movement.

What are you over-preparing for instead of executing?

Day 11/21 - My Motherhood Journey

Jim Rohn once said, “In life, we must all suffer one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.”

Every new season of life always has something to teach us and if we allow it, we can find a version of ourselves that pleasantly surprises us.

For me, one of such seasons was becoming a mother!
Being a mother has been nothing short of heartwarming, the experience is enriching, it's beautiful, it's Divine. I lack words to best express it.
However it also comes with its own challenges such as; hypersensitivity, almost always anxious about everything especially about your new baby, you are likely to lose a lot of sleep, your nutrition can become poor if you don't pay attention to it, tiredness etc. So many things can easily drive you into downward spiral in an experience that should have been joyful, and even your hormones doesn't make it easier either.

Some months in, I noticed myself drifting and I had to give myself some pep talk. I had to restrategise as I know my little one would love a version of me that enjoys being a mother and does not feel limited by it. These seasons may not always be the easiest but like my coach always says You are the CEO (Chief Energy Officer) of your own life , if something is not working well, change it. Move you are not a tree.

So recently I decided to suffer the pain of discipline. And it's gradually paying off. My weight is gradually dropping off and I am feeling much better within me.

Today I decided to take some pictures and I’m genuinely happier with the results. I committed to small daily actions: exercising, reading, or learning something new every single day.
Interestingly, reflective writing wasn’t originally on the list… but it found its way there. And it has been transformational. It’s been instrumental in helping me see patterns, adjust my mindset, and grow intentionally.

These habits are now slowly becoming my non-negotiables.

Here's what I learnt today from Jim Rohn's podcast, see what speaks to you.

You will feel pain either way but one leads to growth, the other to regret.
Guard your thoughts. Guard your environment.

Your mind is the most powerful weapon you have yet it can also be vulnerable to doubt and fear. Be intentional about what you allow in. Eliminate gossip. Avoid drama. Reduce distractions.
Set boundaries.

Turn setbacks into setups.

Success doesn’t happen by accident it happens by design.
Don’t just think about today. Think 10 years ahead.

Most people don’t have a strategy problem, they have a patience problem.

Remember:
Success is not something you pursue. It’s something you attract by the person you become.
