Did you know❓ Falls from climbing are one of the top reasons we see kids in physio with broken wrists, elbows, and collarbones! 😢 But don’t worry — we’ve got physio-approved tips to keep climbing FUN and SAFE! 🙌💪

👀 Why Injuries Happen:

🧠 Kids overestimating their strength & coordination
📏 Growth spurts can throw off balance & control

🧠 PHYSIO TIPS TO CLIMB SMART ✅

👶 Use climbing equipment that matches your
child’s age & skill level
👐 Encourage using BOTH hands & looking for stable footing
👯 Avoid overcrowding—wait turns to prevent bumps & tumbles
🦘 Remind kids to land with bent knees to absorb the impact!
😴 Tired muscles = wobbly movements = more risk! Take breaks!

✨Do you have a child with Cerebral Palsy and have been told that they are a level 1-5, but are unsure what the numbers stand for? "Cerebral palsy is the name for a group of lifelong conditions that affect movement and co-ordination. It's caused by a problem with the brain that develops before, during or soon after birth." (Source: NHS
England). One of the ways Cerebral Palsy is organised is based on gross motor function using the Gross Motor Functional Classification Scale (GMFCS). The scale looks at certain movements such as; sitting, walking and the use of mobility devices. ✨If you have a child with Cerebral Palsy and have any concerns or questions please DM us or email info@thechildrensphysio.com, early intervention is vital to see a child with Cerebral Palsy achieve their best potential.
