Here is a true story -

The Erazme team were contacted last week by an elderly lady in the UK who lived alone and found out (by asking her bank for a written statement) that she had been scammed of over £50,000 from debit cards over a period of 3 months.

The scammers had managed to request additional cards and divert their delivery to a new address. They had then used the cards for regular expenditure at various supermarkets, purchasing goods just under £300 each time, draining the client's bank account.

At no time did the bank block the payments or seek clarification from the client. One transaction was even a £12,000 bank transfer to a third party of the scammers' choice.

Needless to say, the client's bank had been totally blind to the whole matter and was proving unhelpful in resolving it. Erazme provided immediate support in the following way;

-We froze all debit cards that she did not have in her possession
-We obtained authority to deal with the banks on her behalf for ongoing correspondence
-We reviewed the bank statements to detect spending patterns and locations
-We identified the £12,000 transfer and managed to get that immediately reversed to her bank account
-We helped her set up bank statements to her address to save her from visiting the bank

We have been commissioned to support the client over the next 3 months to help retrieve lost funds.

How much did we charge for this service? It was less than £500.
