27/06/2025
🗓️ 27 June is PTSD Awareness Day — a day to raise awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the lasting impact it can have on people’s lives.
PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after someone experiences or witnesses something very distressing like an accident, assault, abuse, disaster, or trauma from military service. It can cause flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, or feeling “on edge” — even long after the event has passed.
First recognised in 2010 by the U.S. Senate, this awareness day has since gone global, with many countries — including the UK — observing June as PTSD Awareness Month.
It’s a chance to better understand how trauma affects people, challenge stigma, and show support to those living with PTSD and Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) every day. 💙
Let’s keep the conversation going — because healing starts with understanding.
