Even if you can't sit quietly in front of a turquoise blue ocean this weekend. Shutting your eyes and imagining the soft sand between your toes, the gentle warmth of the sun and listening to the calming rhythm of the waves, for even a few minutes can have the same physiological benefits on your body as if you were actually there!

Reminded me of me and my son when he was young. I used to despair at times that he wouldnt fit in, he wasn't the same, he wasn't normal, he wasn't like the other kids. But I shouldn't have worried, my despair was no reflection on him it was my judgement trying to squeeze him into a box dictated by a society that frowns on difference, variety and these questioning children who won't tow the line and who openly display that imposed curriculums bore them to tears. Really, what I should have done rather than despair was embrace his quirks earlier, taken delight and laughed along with my beautiful boy. You can't fight the wind but you can put up a sail and harness it together. Now at 27, he's seen and done so many interesting, inspirational and exciting things that 'being normal' could have never have given him. Im so proud of my son for defying all my attempts to normalise him.
