This group didn’t really take off due to other commitments and technical issues, but the good news is that something new is on the way. Very soon I’ll be launching a fresh social media channel on both Facebook and Instagram with a clearer vision, more engaging content, and a stronger focus on support and truth.

I’ll share the link here as soon as it’s live, so you’ll be the first to know. After that, I’ll be closing this group.

Ask yourself - who benefits from these marketing campaigns?

If being single on Valentines Day or having herpes makes you feel bad then both marketing campaigns have worked on you.
This is reversible, we don't have to buy into any advertising campaign. We can be psychologically immune.

In the case of herpes, you can't catch it twice so you are physically immune by default. Being psychologically immune is something we can achieve by focusing on positive facts and rejecting any negative thought related to either campaign.

Nearly all of what you have read or seen online about herpes is completely fake or hugely exaggerated. Facts cost nothing. Read them in the guidelines for the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV.

Anything claiming to be a cure for herpes simplex is a scam.

Since the launch of the marketing campaign that created the herpes stigma, it's not just big pharma who have profiteered from the fear and anxiety it continues to cause. There are herpes and STI dating sites specifically targeting those who believe they are afflicted with social leprosy and there are dodgy companies all too happy to take your money in exchange for a blood or urine test, without any mention that results are not always accurate.

One of the most common ones (and also easy to spot) are the herbal 'cures' from a fictional doctor in Africa. These are blatant and audacious cons and should be either reported, ignored or called out. Of all the amoral opportunists that have emerged from the woodwork since the dawn of the stigma, these are one of the most obvious to spot.

Herpes simplex is very common and like chicken pox, the common cold, hay fever and lots of things, there is no cure. However, it can be managed for those who notice it (most don't). Correct information is more important than a cure.

There are many false claims of a herbal cure. PLEASE BEWARE of any post which recommends a 'herbal medicine', 'cure', or 'doctor' and report immediately as spam. There is no cure for herpes simplex just as there is no cure for the common cold, chicken pox, thrush, glandular fever, flu, hay fever or many other things. The cure for herpes simplex is CORRECT INFORMATION and you can get that here for free.
