About Dr Maryam Abubakar – Founder of Camford Medicals
Dr Maryam Abubakar is a qualified medical doctor with a background in Cancer medicine, biomedical science and healthcare management.
She founded Camford Medicals during the COVID-19 pandemic after witnessing the urgent need for high-quality, home-based healthcare services.
Under her leadership, Camford Medicals has successfully delivered services for the NHS, playing a key role in supporting national health priorities through community-focused initiatives.
The organisation now provides health checks for communities in London, including blood pressure checks, blood tests, and consultations with healthcare professionals.
Guided by her Nigerian heritage, Dr Abubakar is passionate about addressing health inequalities and improving access to care for minority and underserved communities.
She has spoken at the Global Peace and Unity event and served as a panelist for NatWest’s Black History Month celebration, “Celebrating Our Sisters and Matriarchs of Movements.”
She is also a proud mother of two, balancing her professional mission with family life.
Her vision is to deliver healthcare that is not only clinically excellent, but also compassionate, culturally sensitive, and inclusive.
