🚴♂️ Tour de Barchester 2026: Day 4 – The Grand Finale 🚴♀️
What a journey it’s been! The cyclists completed the final leg of this incredible challenge.
The day began with a visit to Archview Lodge Care Home - Barchester Healthcare in , where the staff prepared a fresh Teppanyaki-style breakfast and an amazing spread with pancakes, omelettes, fresh fruit and treats. A big thank you to all for the fantastic hospitality.
From there, the cyclists headed to Drummond Grange Care Home - Barchester Healthcare in , where everyone went the extra mile with Resident Ambassador, Susanne, crafting personalised goody bags for the riders and support crew. The cyclists were treated to TDB-made cakes, a fresh fruit buffet and complimentary massages from the Physiotherapist, Gilberto.
Next stop Strachan House Care Home - Barchester Healthcare in , where the cyclists received a fantastic welcome. A big thank you to Frances Fisher, General Manager, and all the team for their hospitality, refreshments, spectacular bagpipes and Scottish dancing.
At Queens Manor Care Home - Barchester Healthcare the team received another wonderful welcome with afternoon tea and delicious treats. A true highlight of the visit was meeting Brenda, 91, she spoke passionately about her lifetime achievement of cycling 30,000 miles. It was very heart-warming when, upon learning she had never received a medal for her incredible accomplishment, Simon McCall presented her with an official Tour de Barchester medal. In a lovely exchange, Brenda also presented medals to the cyclists.
What an excellent visit to Balclutha Court Care Home - Barchester Healthcare in , where the cyclists were welcomed with a BBQ and fantastic entertainment from a brilliant singer. It was wonderful to see residents singing, dancing and enjoying the music.
And finally… the team made their way to Four Hills Care Home - Barchester Healthcare in .
Residents and staff cheered on and welcomed the cyclists with champagne as they crossed the finish line. It was such a joyous occasion with live performances and a trophy ceremony. It was a fantastic way to honour the hard work of all the cyclists and the support crew.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the cyclists, the support crew and everyone involved in making this year’s event such a remarkable success! 👏
