Fight Forward

Fight Forward Fight Forward CIC founded by former Gold medalist & GB boxer Lesley Sackey. We use boxing as a tool to improve the mental health of survivors of domestic abuse.

Our mission is to help 100,000 women to Fight Forward. Fight Forward CIC is a not for profit set up by former Gold medalist and GB boxer Lesley Sackey. We exist because we believe every woman deserves to feel safe, powerful, and in control of her own life. And we’re here to help make that happen. Our mission is to help 100,000 survivors of domestic abuse use boxing as a tool to Fight Forward. What We Do

Fight Forward is all about helping women reconnect with their strength, both mentally and physically. We run transformational boxing and therapy programmes designed to support survivors of abuse, and women who want to move from a place of survive to thrive. The FightBack Club – A 10-week, high-energy boxing programme where women train like real fighters, push their limits, and, win or lose, step into the ring for the first time, proving to themselves that they are stronger than their past, and are able to thrive in their future. The FightBack Restore Programme – A powerful 8-week journey that combines boxing with trauma-informed therapy. This is about healing the mind as well as the body, giving women the tools to process their experiences, regain confidence, and move forward with purpose. Building Community & The Power of storytelling – “You cannot be what you cannot see” Edwina Dunn (Founder of The Female Lead) - Through our growing community we show that story telling matters and allows others to see they are not alone. We’re here to start conversations, challenge stigma and dispel the myths around survivors. Why Boxing? Because boxing teaches you how to take up space. It teaches you how to stand tall, move with confidence, and own your power. For many women who have been through abuse, trauma can leave them feeling disconnected from their own bodies. Boxing helps rebuild that connection. It’s about the power of taking back control.

So what is Fight Back?
1. Boxing (but no one is trying to knock you out)
2. Movement that clears your head
3. Women who actually talk to each other
4. Confidence that sneaks up on you
5. Free places for survivors

Fight Back isn’t just about becoming a boxer.

It’s about what happens when women step into a space that is equal parts movement, community and courage.

People arrive nervous.
They leave stronger.

Not just physically — though that happens too.

Spaces are limited and a number are reserved free for survivors of abuse.

Doors closing soon.

There are plenty of ways to spend a Tuesday evening.

Scrolling.
Wine.
Another gym class where nobody makes eye contact.

Or… you could step into the ring.

Fight Back is a 10-week programme where women come together to rebuild strength, confidence and connection through boxing and community.

No egos.
No pressure to be “good”.
Just a room full of women rediscovering what they’re capable of.

A number of free places are available for women survivors of abuse, because access to healing shouldn’t depend on circumstance.

If you’ve been circling the idea… consider this your nudge.

If you want to do something that pushes your limits
(in a good way)

Meet people with good vibes and real care.
Learn something new.
Move your body.
Maybe even heal a few things along the way.

Over 10 weeks we train together, laugh a lot, and build the confidence to step into the ring.

Not to fight anyone else —
but to prove something to yourself.

We have a small number of free spaces for survivors who might not otherwise be able to take part.

If this feels like something you might need right now…
come join us.

The toughest opponent is rarely the person in front of you.

It’s the voice that tells you to hold back. To wait. To decide it’s not for you before you’ve even tried.

Learning not to give that voice the final say is part of the training.
The rest follows.
